Sliding-valves; actuating valves. - A full-way valve, specially suitable for admitting and withdrawing fluids from a reservoir or other vessel, is shown in Fig. 1. The valve spindle f is fitted with a slide e connected to it by links g. When the spindle is pushed upwards, the upper edge of the slide is pressed against the casing a, and straightens the links so as to press the slide against the opening d and close it. The upper part of the spindle also comes in contact with the projection c<1> on the supply valve c, and opens the valve, which admits a supply of fluid into the reservoir or other vessel through the passage c*. The links are kept in the diagonal position during the motion of the spindle by ribs a'.
