Tobacco pipes and cigar holders.-In order to purify the smoke and to free it from nicotine, before it reaches the mouthpiece, it is passed through a tube which is divided by a transverse diaphragm 5 into two portions 3, 4. Communication is made between the two portions by means of holes 6, 6<1>, situated near the diaphragm, which open into a chamber 2, in which the smoke is cooled and the nicotine condensed. Direct communication between the chamber 2 and the bowl and the mouthpiece is prevented by suitable enlargements, or collars 7 on the tubes 3, 4, or by plugs pierced by the ends of those tubes. Fig. 1 shows the invention applied to a cigar holder.
