Реферат: 22,860. Earp, W., and Peberdy & Earp. Nov. 8. Cutting - machines for leather &c. - Relates to means for protecting the operator of lift cutting and other machines used in the boot and shoe trades. The machine is provided with a continuously rising and falling cross-head, the motion of which is transmitted to the ram which acts on the work by a trip-lever and tumbler-block, which are automatically operated by sliding the work into position to be operated on. By this means, according to the Provisional Specification, it is rendered unnecessary for the operator to place the hands under the operative parts of the machine. The invention is illustrated as applied to a heelbuilding machine. The heel mould H is slid into position over the nail die J, and trips the lever F so as to throw the tumbler block D under the reciprocating cross-head C. When the invention is adapted for heel-building machines, at the completion of the operation the heel mould is slid back into contact with a tumbler L, which is tripped and kicks the heel out of the mould.
