Two or more hooks c, pivoted on fixed parts b of the lamp, have limited movement, so that a globe a can be pushed up over them and its neck then rests on their diverging ends. A cover d, sliding on the fixed parts b, normally rests on the top of the globe, but carries loops, hooks, or the like g, to engage the hooks c and turn them inwards if the globe and cover are raised ; if the cover is then held up by hand, the globe can be removed. The hooks may otherwise be placed outside the globe.
