Dental erosion is a significant oral health problem that affects millions of individuals around the world. Erosive tooth wear can cause significant tooth damage compromising the esthetics and function of teeth, requiring extensive dental treatment. 1. A method of treating or preventing erosion of the teeth in a patient in need of such treatment , the method comprising applying a therapeutically effective amount of an alkalinizing agent to the teeth so as to raise saliva pH to 7.0 or above; and applying a therapeutically effective amount of a re-mineralizing agent to the teeth.2eucalyptus. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the alkalinizing agent further comprises (i) a re-hardening agent claim 1 , (ii) claim 1 , (iii) licorice root claim 1 , and (iv) arginine.3. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the re-mineralizing agent comprises calcium claim 1 , phosphate claim 1 , and/or fluoride.4. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the alkalinizing agent comprises an alkalinizing mouthwash and the re-mineralizing agent comprises a re-mineralizing mouthwash.5. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the pH of the saliva is 5 or below before the alkalinizing agent is applied to the teeth.6. A method according to claim 4 , wherein the pH of the alkalinizing mouthwash is at least 8.0.7. A method according to claim 4 , wherein the alkalinizing mouthwash is in a quantity of between about 15 mLs to about 60 mLs.8. A method according to claim 4 , wherein the re-mineralizing mouthwash is in a quantity of between about 15 mLs to 60 mLs.9.
