Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Betätigungseinheit (20), die dem Spannen und Lösen einer Spannvorrichtung mit einem in einer Maschinenspindel (3) axial verstellbaren Zugbolzen zur Betätigung eines mit Spannklauen (5) zusammenwirkenden Spannkopfes (6) dient, wobei anfänglich durch die Betätigungseinheit (20) zum Spannen in einer axialen Spannrichtung eine Kraft auf den Zugbolzen (4) ausgeübt wird, bis dessen axiale Lage mittels Selbsthemmung gegenüber der Maschinenspindel (3) festgelegt ist, bei dem nach dem Erreichen der Selbsthemmung die Kraftwirkung in Spannrichtung der Betätigungseinheit (20) auf den Zugbolzen (4) beendet wird und während des Arbeitseinsatzes der Spannvorrichtung unterbunden bleibt und bei dem zum Lösen der Einspannung der Zugbolzen (4) durch die Betätigungseinheit (20) in die der Spannrichtung entgegengesetzte Löserichtung verstellt wird, sowie eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens.

A simple, strong and fast acting tool retention subsystem is intended for both original equipment and retrofit applications in machining centers with automatic tool changer systems. A machining center incorporating the invention is described. The invention is compatible with ANSI standards for spindles, tapered tool shanks and knobs, and is configured to eliminate the tool chatter and tool shank taper unseating and release commonly occurring in conventional spring actuated tool retention subsystems when spiral fluted cutters are used. The tool shank is positively jam locked by a rotary bolt actuator means that generates a very high value of axial pre-load tension, comparable to that which was furnished by the very successful historic manual draw-in bolt retention subsystem used in milling machines. A bi-directional free wheeling impact motor drives the rotary bolt actuator means between open and closed positions of a maximally strong collet. Positive seating of the tool shank in the spindle nose taper is assured by the extremely high pre-load tension applied to the knob, which is supplied by the mechanical strain of the steel of the jam locked mechanism and the supporting spindle structure. Thus the tool retention is limited only by the yield strength of the materials and not by the bias of any coil or belleville spring, as is the current practice in the machining center industry.

This groove divides the wedge-shaped surfaces respectively into two partial surfaces positioned at a definite distance from each other. При подводе давлени  от источника через канал В в полость А стакан 8 перемещаетс , сжима  пружину 15, до контакта седла 10 с головкой 13 штуцера 12, имеющей тарельчатую форму. Жидкость поступает через центральное отверстие штуцера в полость гидроцилиндра и перемещает т гу с захватом дл  освобождени  инструмента. При соединении полости гидроцилиндра со сливом стакан возвращаетс  в исходное положение и между головкой 13 и седлом 10 образуетс  зазор, обеспечивающий свободное вращение штуцера 12 вместе со шпинделем. Корпус гидроцилиндра установлен на скалках 10 с пружинами 11, а силовые пружины 5 - на штангах 4, закрепленных в радиальных выступах втулки 3. Эти выступы размещены в радиальных пазах фланца 2. На поршне выполнен кольцевой выступ, а на втулке 3 - кольцевой уступ 13. При подаче давлени  в полость гидроцилиндра его корпус 9 перемещаетс  вправо до упора в кольцевой бурт 12, а поршень - влево до упора кольцевым выступом в уступ 13. Подвижна  втулка 3 перемещаетс  влево, сжима  пружины 5. Шарики 6 выкатываютс  в расточку фланца 2 и освобождают инструмент. После установки нового инструмента полость гидроцилиндра соедин етс  со сливом, упом нутые части возвращаютс  в исходное положение и происходит зажим инструмента за счет взаимодействи  шариков 6 с конической поверхностью хвостовика инструмента и цилндрической поверхностью в расточке фланца под действием усили , передаваемого к ним от пружин 5 через втулку 3. 2 ил.
