A movement prediction device includes a CCD camera (image pickup device) for obtaining image information and a control unit for performing prediction of the movement of an operation body. In the control unit, a region regulation unit identifies a movement detection region on the basis of the image information, a computation unit computes, for example, a motion vector of a center of gravity of the operation body and tracks the movement locus of the operation body which has entered the movement detection region, and a movement prediction unit performs prediction of the movement of the operation body on the basis of the movement locus. 1. A movement prediction device comprising:an image pickup device for obtaining image information; anda control unit for performing movement prediction of movement of an operation body,wherein the control unit tracks a movement locus of the operation body that has entered a movement detection region identified by the image information, and performs the movement prediction on the basis of the movement locus.2. The movement prediction device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit computes a position of a center of gravity of the operation body claim 1 , and tracks a motion vector of the center of gravity as the movement locus of the operation body.3. The movement prediction device according to claim 1 , wherein the movement prediction device estimates a hand portion of the operation body whose image has been obtained in the movement detection region claim 1 , and tracks a movement locus of the hand.4.
