Изобретение может быть использовано при изготовлении труб из термопластов. В способе изготовления трубы наматывают термопластичный профиль, имеющий прямоугольное поперечное сечение, вокруг барабана. Смежные витки соединяют между собой сваркой и сглаживают внешнее сварное соединение посредством дополнительного нагрева и сглаживающего тела. Подают трубу в осевом направлении вперед посредством свободно вращающихся прижимных роликов, действующих на термопластичный профиль. При подаче к барабану термопластичный профиль подводят на неподвижную первую секцию и на ней выполняют сварку. Образованное сварное соединение располагают так, чтобы оно проходило по спиральной канавке, идущей вдоль неподвижной первой секции. Внутреннее и внешнее сварные соединения обрабатываются посредством дополнительного нагрева и неподвижного сглаживающего тела, находящихся на указанных сварных соединениях. A layered structure (8) is wound on the shaft- (1) supported cores (2, 3, 4) at a winding angle of 5 deg -45 deg . End cores (3, 4) define the portions to be flanged, the center core (2) defining a substantially-unchanging region. Winding complete, the winding end-return regions are cut off at gaps (14). Gaps are formed by spacer washers (7) between discs (5, 6) and outer cores (3, 4). The central region of the composite is pressed by an outer collar mold acting against a stop, holding the composite both in place on the core, and to the correct dimensions. Before hardening, the assembly is rotated to lift the edges of the composite (e.g. centrifugally). These are further widened and pressed by end molds with stops, to define the final form of the flanges. An Independent claim is included for corresponding forming equipment.

A cyclic vacuum bagging process alternately applied over pressure and outside vacuum to a vacuum bag process, thus relieving pressure, and later, optionally, applying pressure to improve structural strength. Relieving pressure tends to improve (reduce) porosity.

Tubular mouldings are made by cutting full length blanks at an angle (25 degrees) to the cord axis of a stock resin impregnated fabric. Blanks are rolled up under tension onto a mandrel, cured and removed from the mandrel. Two or more blanks may be rolled concentrically on to one mandrel, pref. with successive residual cord axes laid in opposing directions. An outer layer may be rolled with longitudinally oriented cords. The structure may be enclosed in a cellulosic or rubber sheath during curing. Methos is used for mfr. of constant or tapered section tubular structures from fabrics of e. g. glass, graphite, boron, nylon, or other filaments impregnated with a B-stage phenolic, epoxy or polyester thermosetting resin. Suitable for fishing rods, golf club shafts, ski-sticks, billiard cues, vaulting poles, etc. The offset cord axis may be laid at any angle for an optimum balance of stiffness in torsion and flex. Each cord is of limited length and of restricted continuity for transmission of vibration etc. compared with continuous longitudinal or helically wound reinforcing filaments.

Method for compacting wound resin-impregnated fibrous materials consists of these stages: (a) one winding turn is formed around a mandrel, (b) successing turns are formed upon one another, each being compressed by a suitable tensioned band which is removed before the next winding is produced, (c) the final winding of fibrous material and resin is combined with a heated tensioned band and (d) the assembly is hardened, after which the mandrel and tensioned band are removed. Pref. fibres are carbon, boron or glass, alternatively in the form of bands. The first tensioning band may be of plastics, the second, heated tensioning band, of metal. The method enables the fibres to be compacted to high density without crumpling.

When an adequate layer has been built up the thread is deflected to an adjacent barrel without stopping the thread making and another layer of material is built up. In the meantime the first barrel is arrested to permit removal of the material to make it ready for another coiling sequence. Pref. arrangement comprises two coaxial barrels. between which is provided a coaxial roll which may be moved close to either barrel for transferring the continuously supplied thread.

A second skin of fibers and resin is deposited on the framework. The structure is heat cured, its ends are cut off and the mandrel withdrawn. An Independent claim is included for the following: (a) Equipment for performing the above method includes devices for rotating a generally cylindrical mandrel and depositing the fibers and resin forming the two skins. Preferred Features: The device depositing the fibers and resin of the second skin moves along and around the mandrel. The device depositing the fabric forming the first skin has rollers contacting the surface of the mandrel for folding the deposited fabric. The rollers are mounted so they can move parallel to the axis of the mandrel. The resin is either impregnated into the fibers or applied after the associated fibers have been deposited.

TIRE CONSTITUTING MEMBER WINDING TENSION CONTROLLING APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure A winding tension controlling apparatus controls tensile force to be applied to a tire constituting member spirally wound about a building drum. The apparatus comprises a memory device for storing patterns of tensile forces, a detecting sensor for always detecting winding positions of the tire member and a processing unit for obtaining a tensile force value from a pattern of tensile force received on the basis of the memory device and a detected result from the memory device and outputting the tensile force value as a control signal. The apparatus further comprises a regenerative control device for controlling a DC motor connected to a tension roller to cause the tension roller to rotate at a speed slower by a predetermined value than a running speed of the tire member wound about the building drum and a display device for displaying various informations concerning winding of the tire member. In this manner, the tire member causes the tension roller to accelerate until its circumfer-ential speed becomes substantially equal to the running speed of the tire member wound about the building drum, thereby causing a tensile force in the tire member equal to the tensile force value to applied to the tire member.

Gain scheduling based on spool radius is also provided. Additionally, a compliant roller (42) reduces tension dips and spikes from disturbances on the tow, and an inner velocity loop, along with the closed tension loop, provides more effective control of tow tension. The servo control is reconfigurable into an open or pseudo-closed loop mode with a safety low power supply which slowly reels-up slack tow after tow threading and maintains low tension on the tow to hold it in the machine during servicing.
