A sealing or trim strip 2 for gripping a flange 22 has a foot extending from an interior side wall. The foot comprises a flexible supporting part 18 and a gripping body 16, the body being pivotal on the support. Placement of the strip onto a flange causes part of the gripping body to rotate away from the flange surface, pivoting the remainder of the body into firmer contact with the flange in order to resist removal of the strip. Several feet may be incorporated into the strip and they may be T-shaped. A foot may include a blocking means 16D to prevent excessive rotation, which means may engage with the strip wall. Alternatively, the blocking means may be mounted on the wall (figure 7g). The gripping surface 16C of a foot may be curved, and the foot may have a second attachment to the wall (34, figure 7j).
