In a forced-flow once-through boiler installation in which water is pumped at 1 through heating surfaces 2, evaporator 5 and superheating surfaces 6, 7, a steam separator 8 is arranged between the evaporator 5 and the superheater 6 and is connected to a water container 9 from which a circulation conduit 10 having a pump 11 and valve 21 extends back to the main flow path between the pump 1 and the evaporator 5 to ensure an adequate supply of feed water, e.g. 40% of full load supply is maintained in the steam generation section during stopping or starting or during part load working of the boiler.
