The available invention covers a spirit level perpendicularly to taking up at a cylindric part exhibiting or waagreeht Gegenstãnde which can be aligned, in particular hand drills. There is already spirit levels for taking up at hand drills well-known. For example is in the USA 4,402,141 a such spirit level besehrieben. This spirit level has however the disadvantage that it fits only to particularly co-ordinated drill presses and is firmly connected by a screwed joint the spirit level. From the FRA 2,491,795 a drill press is well-known, which possesses inserted spirit levels, so that the machine can be aligned wãhrend the Arbeítsvorgang exactly horizontal or vertically. There is therefore a need after a spirit level, which are installed problem-free to each conventional drill press or at other tools or Gegenstãnde kann.

A small cubical block has a recess defined between two plane surfaces inclined to each other (2, 3) at an angle between 100 and 135 deg. forming a broad V-groove for seating on the cylindrical part (10) of the drill behind its chuck. The block is retained in position on the cylindrical part (10) by a coil spring (4) whose ends are hooked into holes (5) in narrow flanges at either side of the block. The level indicator (8) is recessed into the top of the block. Another indicator (9) is recessed into the back of the block, performing a similar function when a vertical instead of a horizontal hole is to be drilled. ADVANTAGE - Device can be fitted easily to any tool having cylindrical mounting surface.
