POLYCHROME SCREEN
The invention concerns a polychrome screen comprising alternating areas (40A, 40B) of first (A) and second (B) dichroic display materials sandwiched between first and second insulating walls (31, 33) and alternating areas (42B, 42C) of third (B) and fourth (C) dichroic display materials sandwiched between the second and third insulating walls (33, 35), the second and third display materials being advantageously identical, each area of the first material is superimposed both on an area of the third material and on part of an area of the fourth material and each area of the second material is superimposed on the other part of an area of the fourth material. The invention is applicable in particular to liquid crystal polychrome display cells such as nematic or ferroelectric liquid crystals, and uses equally well a multiplexed or non-multiplexed display mode.
