[1]

The invention relates to devices for trapping vehicles, apartment or magazines comprising a, or most often more contacts, concealed and actuated by the opening of the doors, or even in the case of a vehicle by an attempt to start, 1' actuation of a single one of the contacts driving the triggering of an alarm for attracting attention to provide against theft.

[2]

To the more delicate in these trapping devices is to ensure that the normal user does not trigger the alarm itself, as it exits or as it enters the vehicle or in the room. Sometimes This is achieved by means of a relay timed release which, on the one hand, allows certain delay, after arming of the device within the vehicle or the premises, so that the user can emerge and locking the door, and on the other hand allows a time-delayed manner during the reopening of the door before initiating the alarm, to leave the time the user to disarm the trapping device. The disadvantage is naturally that a robber may, after forcing the lock, have the same delay for disarming the trapping if it knows the existence and location, thus there is no efficiency.

[3]

Another commonly used solution is to arm and disarm the trapping device by means of a safety lock, which, if it is placed outside, attracts the attention to the existence of an alarm and may be further forced itself. If placed within and combined with a time delay, this greatly increases the cost of the installation, as much as the cabinet of the device is to be tamper-resistant.

[4]

The aim of the invention is to provide a very simple device, substantially no visible from the outside, having no timing or key lock or other than stop 1' alarm, and yet allows the user, using a simple code, of making and breaking the outside of the trap, but a robber can only execute the same operation without causing the operation of the alarm.

[5]

The invention involves the use of a cyclic switch, type remote-controlled switch, having a number n of states sufficiently high, only one of which controls the opening of the trapping circuit, and uses more magnetic switches, preferably of the type reed switch, as much as possible concealed behind a surface accessible from the outside, one of these switches feeding cyclic control of the switch, while the other or others directly actuating the alarm. The device is completed by a magnet preferably accommodated in a key holder and carried by the user, the magnet is sufficiently powerful and a proper orientation to enable control magnetic switches.

[6]

In this way the user can be the scavenging in the encoding service and by producing p pulses with the magnet on the magnetic switch controlling the switch cyclic, and knows the location, and

[7]

at its return dépiéger the installation by acting again with its magnet on the same magnetic switch, to send the complementary number of pulses equal to (n-p). Any other action operated with a magnet on the magnetic switch which is not suitable, or to provide a number of pulses which is not suitable, not only does not produce the suppression of the trapping but directly impinges the alarm in the first case.

[8]

The user is given the opportunity to modify each of its starts

[9]

encoding, provided to remember the number of pulses sent or the number of pulses remaining to be sent, which is implemented easily using a display device integrated Rudimentary multi-position in the key fob.

[10]

[21]

To snare a vehicle can be used, in a known manner, and as shown in the Figure 1, a buzzer which may advantageously be made by the horn of the vehicle, and which is powered by the working contact of a relay 2 3, further comprising a sealing contact 4, which has to be supplied to coil 5 of the relay, which comprises in series a delay device 6 heat, heated by a resistor 7 located for example in parallel with the coil 5. The assembly is further actuated by a trigger circuit -8, having a plurality of contacts 9, the number of 3 in the pattern, arranged in parallel and which advantageously may be constituted by magnetic switches reed or simple concealed mechanical contacts at various points of the vehicle to be operable by the opening of the doors, by breakage of window glass, by the opening of the boot or bonnet, or by 1' operation of the ignition or the starter.

[22]

The closure of any of the contacts 9 thus the cocking of the relay 3 and the turning on of the warning 1 whose operation is held by the holding contact 4, even after contact release 9, and this during the time determined by the thermal retarder 6.

[23]

To suppress the trapping, it is sufficient to interrupt the trigger circuit 8, which is implemented according to the invention by means of a switch 10 cyclic, comprising in particular a control coil 11 and a contact 12, arranged such that, for a series of pulses sent on the coil II, the switch assumes successively n different states before returning to the initial state, and that only one of these conditions causes the opening of the contact 12. Cyclic Such a switch can easily be carried out by example, as shown in Figure 5, by means of a conventional control switch mechanism, constituted by an electromagnet 13, the pallet 14 which drives a pawl 15 which acts on a ratchet wheel 16 secured to a can " 17, which acts on a contact blade 18.

[24]

In the case shown in Figure 5, the cam 17, instead of alternately close and open the contact as usual, is circular in shape and has a flat 19 which permits the blade 18, for a single positions, which is that shown in Figure 5, come the contact is opened by spreading its grain 20 of the fixed counter-grain 21. Instead, for all other positions, the circular portion of the cam 17 which closes the. contact between 20 and 21. Alternatively, the cam could include, instead of the land, a boss which projects from actuating a contact working at the opening. In ' the present embodiment, the wheel " ratchet has 8 teeth, which number is naturally completely arbitrary.

[25]

The current of the coil 11 of 1 'electromagnet 13 is used, in accordance with' the invention, a magnetically controlled switch 22

[26]

_AOE280A2AO> preferably a switch ' flexible blade (or ILS) idle open and arranged for example behind the windshield to be actuated from the outside by means of a magnet.

[27]

A lamp 23 can advantageously be provided in parallel with the coil 11 and visible from the outside to allow the user to more conveniently when its magnet has actuated the switch cyclical and counting the number of pulses supplied thereto, both when it leaves its vehicle that when it desired to be used again.

[28]

For the practical operation for the user, can be, according to the invention, using a key holder as shown-in Figures 2 and 3 and such as a mass of-flexible or semi-flexible material 24 connected by a chain to the key ring 25, said mass having both a magnet 26, preferably cylindrical with its magnetization parallel to the generatrices, a disc 27 provided with an eccentric hole 28 to allow it to be turned in its housing and to serve as a marking in front of the numerals marked on Swimming the range 29 of the apparatus as shown in Figure 3. The number of positions corresponds at least to the number n of states of the cyclic switch, is 8 in the case as exemple.s. N -1 positions Actually suffice since they never used the position 0 (or n), but there is no disadvantage providing a greater number to avoid provide an indication of the value of n.

[29]

The reed switch 22 is preferably integrated within a probe 30, e.g. rubber, which is also integrated in the lamp 23, and that is intended to be placed against the base of the windshield and the inner side of the vehicle with the indicator visible from the outside. According to the invention, the probe also includes a second reed switch 31 of the same type as the switch 22, or more preferably a greater sensitivity to complete the circuit for all positions of the magnet in the vicinity of the probe except that at the end controlling the switch 22. A flexible wire 32 multi-conductor extends from the probe and allows the shaft to be connected to the remainder of the installation. Referring, in particular in Figure 1, how the second reed switch 31 is connected directly in parallel with the circuit 8 so as to supply power to the coil of the relay 5 3 in the same way as the switches 9 but not aoua the dependency of the contact 12.

[30]

In normal use of the vehicle, the cam 17 is naturally in the producing position 1' opening of the contact 12 as shown in Figures 1 and 5. In these conditions, the user can operate without any no ' cases lead to the alarm. When is removed from the vehicle, after removing the ignition key naturally attached to the ring 25 and key having closed the doors of the vehicle, it uses the key fob > previously described to turn on the trapping device. It is proposed to as to approach the key holder of the suitable end of the probe 30, comprising, in the example shown is the left end, being submitted with the understanding that it will have half of the probes produced this arrangement and the other half the symmetrical arrangement.

[31]

This approach of the magnet has the effect of illuminating the indicator light 23 and

[32]

advance the cam a notch 17. The user can pull magnet to bring as many times as he wishes, to place the cam 17 at an arbitrary position selected by it, and it can control exactly this position by counting the number of ignitions of the illuminant 23. If the light is is turned on for instance three times, the user will know that it is intended to send the number of pulses complementary, i.e. 5 if the cam is to eight positions as in the example selected, to4 obtain the detrapping of the installation.

[33]

To assist its memory, it may employ the disc 27 integrated with the key holder to display at will, or the number of pulses sent or the number of pulses remaining to be sent, which is a complementary coding in the case of a loss of key holder.

[34]

In this way, if a thief is and attempts to steal the vehicle, it necessarily causes closing one of the contacts 9 which causes the alarm, since the cam 17 is then in a position that closes off the contact 12.

[35]

If the thief knows the existence of the device according to the invention,

[36]

it will naturally use either magnet for operating the probe.

[37]

However if it is " insufficient power; it will actuate the switch 22, while vice versa is it is too high, it will cause inmanquablement 1' actuation of the switch 31, which immediately triggers the alarm. This is then a second removable.

[38]

Even if the thief the power magnet suitable for use, it remains that it will not know whether to droitë placed on the end or at the left end of the probe, any misplacement inmanquablement producing the alarm, even if it is placed in the middle, which provides a third safety.

[39]

Even in case the thief would by chance to place the magnet and suitable side suitable to not trigger the alarm and illuminating the indicator light 23, it would not be the number of pulses to produce to cause the detrapping of the installation, which therefore provides a fourth safety which is the largest.

[40]

Achieved Even if the thief steal the keys of the vehicle and the key fob according to the invention, it will be found the indication chiffée carried by the wheel 27 but will not know whether the digit displayed is the number of pulses produced or the remaining one to produce, which is an ultimate safety by adding that if the number displayed is that of pulses produced, there is still, to calculate the complement, to know the number of positions of the cycle which is not necessarily immutable because, even in a manufacturing series, it is possible to have cams 17 with a different number of teeth and on the other hand, nothing causes that the roller 27 has an equal number of positions, said number being e.g. greater to cause additional interference. It may also, as above-mentioned, Being one less than.

[41]

The volts that is, with the material extremely simple low

[42]

from the outside, is obtained substantially absolute security, even when known the existence and the principle of the installation.

[43]

The same present invention may be advantageously applied for the protection of apartments. In this case, naturally without a warning as on the vehicles and it is required to adding pull-station 1 in a manner known. However, is arranged generally of a patch 32 or from a calling device equivalent sound controlled by a button 33 placed outside. It is advantageous utiliaer the regime shown in Figure 6 wherein the entire portion is identical to the corresponding right of the Figure 1, the only difference involved in the manner of supplying the coil 11 of the switch 10 cyclic;

[44]

Indeed, instead of being directly supplied not the reed switch 22, the coil can be powered by the working contact of a relay 34 inverter 35 which, by its break contact 36, torque normally the call button 33 on one of the terminals of the patch 32. In this way, at rest, the button 33 controls normally call the patch.

[45]

The call button 33, visible in Figure 7, may be of a type quite usual, for its external appearance, but be modified such that, within the housing, are placed the switches reed 22 and 31. The switch 31 is switched directly between the source and the relay as in example 3. However, the reed switch 22 is switched in series with the coil 37 of the relay 35 entpe the power supply terminals. On the other hand, the lamp 23 can advantageously be integrated into the housing of the 33 or button in the button itself in a manner known.

[46]

In this case, by placing the key fob according to Figure 2 with its magnet 26 in the correct position against the casing of the button 33 for actuating the reed switch 22, this causes the tilting of the relay 35 such that, if the is then pressed on the button 33, it operates more the patch 32 but instead the coil 11 at the same time that the indicator 23. No has in this case to move the magnet, but merely to press the button 33 to produce the number of pulses desired, both for encoding the trapping when dropping the apartment that to achieve the detrapping the return by sending in the same way the number of pulses complementary.

[47]

Manipulation is facilitated and, further, nothing is visible from the outside as to indicate the presence of the device. The security is therefore increased since, even in the event of correct placement of the magnet, it ae is not indicated by the operation of the light as much as a 23 does not press the call button 33, a thief always hesitate to perform. Of course again the respective positions of the switches 22 and 31 can be alternated as desired by flipping the.

[48]

housing 33 of the button.

[49]

Instead of one alarm switch 31, as in the previous examples, can be naturally in multiplying the number, and the arrangement for further increase the interest. For example, in the case of Figure 7 could be providing two other switches 31 along the short sides of the rectangle. An application of interest relates to the protection of magazines closed by doors ice. In, in effect, is arranged a rarely call button near and any installation is necessarily visible from the outside.

[50]

Can be used specific probe 38, as shown in Figure 2, having the shape of a star perfectly symmetrical having a number of branches in each of which is concealed a reed switch which only one, designated by 22, is connected to the coil 11 as in the Figure 1, while all other, designated by 31, are connected in parallel to each other in place of the single switch 31 of Figure 1. The star 38 is fixed behind the ice, for example by means of a suction cup or a bonding, but to be rotatable about its axis, naturally by being connected to the equipment by a flexible cable 32 as previously, while the indicator 23 is located in its center to avoid breaking the symmetry. In this way, in addition to the previous coding of all the safeties and exposed about the scheme of Figure 1, is also can be additional encoding by rotating the star before leaving the magazine the presentation in a single orientation that the user is to know. For example, in the case of a star with four-branches, as depicted in Figure 8, it is sufficient that the user has to remember that the switch 22 is down, or up, or right, or to the left of the lamp 23. Multiplies all This, for a robber, the chances of triggering the alarm.

[51]

As will be understood, embodiments deasus described have no limiting character and may receive all desirable modifications without separating the purpose of the invention. En-particular cyclic the switch 10 could include an additional contact, opened when the contact 12 is closed and vice versa, the contact is placed in series with the vehicle ignition switch to back up to the alarm device by preventing the operation of the engine, in particular for convertible vehicles, the ignition contact can still be further used to operate the alarm as indicated above.

A magnetic reed switch (22) is also included and is operated by bringing a magnet into proximity to it, with the magnet also used to operate a further reed switch (31) in parallel with the alarm release circuit. Pref. the magnet is incorporated in a door key for the vehicle.
