Couplings, automatic; couplings, application of indicators to.-In the automatic coupling described in the parent Specification the carrier rod is made in one piece and carries handles at each end on one of which is mounted' a counterbalance weight; behind the carrier rod is a transverse rod mounted in bearings the ends of the rod having pawls which engage with the handles on the carrier rod when the coupling is in its set position. The carrier rod 15 is in one piece and has tha link-raising arms 65 mounted on it; at the ends of the rod 15 an arm 80 projects rearwardly and engages in the set position of the coupling with a hand-operated pawl 81 mounted on a shaft 82. An extension 79 of the handle 80 may be used for setting the coupling. A sliding weight 84 is mounted on one arm 80 to counterbalance and check the coupling-link 1 and safety indicator signal (not shown).
