[Also in Division F1] A mixing appliance comprises a vessel for pulverulent materials and a mixing injector passing through the peripheral wall of the vessel with a component tangential to the wall, the arrangement producing two distinct turbulent motions in the materials. The vessel is double walled, contains a horizontal screen above two injectors, and is adapted for starch processing, Each injector comprises a steam nozzle 9 surrounded by a sleeve 10, there being ports 12 in the sleeve through which starch is drawn. The starch may be rotated by blades in a direction contrary to that of the steam.
