Process for Working up a Suspension

Aqueous suspensions of polymer crumb, &c., are stirred by one or more knife edged stirrers, the water containing a viscosity-increasing agent. Preferably the polymer is EPDM rubber and the agent is carboxymethyl cellulose. This process is particularly suitable for removing hexane from the crumb.
