Airbag cover which forms a visible boundary line with interior cladding

A vehicle interior cladding, for a dashboard, comprises at least two separate cladding components 2, 3 which clad different areas of the vehicle interior including the dashboard. An airbag cover 4 may be integrated into a first cladding component 2 and has perforations (15, 16, fig 2) at an end 23. The airbag cover 4 forms a shared boundary line 5 with a second cladding component 3. The boundary line 5 acts as a rupture line to enable formation of an opening (20) through which an airbag 7 is deployed. The first and second cladding components 2, 3 may be made of different materials such as foamed or multi-layer structure. Airbag cover 4 may have a plastically deformable surface and/or can be expanded in prescribed direction when exposed to the airbag 7.
