PARALLEL SERIAL CONVERTER OF OPTICAL DATA
PURPOSE: To enable high speed conversion high in noise resistance by converting many optical data inputted in parallel directly to serial optical data without converting the data to electric signal. CONSTITUTION: The first comb electrode ultrasonic wave oscillator (IDT)31 and the second IDT32 are provided at a distance M in the direction of propagation of surface acoustic wave. Driving of IDT31, 32 is started simultaneously by a driving circuit 4 consisting of a high frequency oscillator. Accordingly, the second surface acoustic wave 52 from IDT32 propagates later than the first surface acoustic wave 51 from IDT31 by a distance M. In the front side of IDT31 in the direction of propagation, the first surface acoustic wave 51 exists singly at a part 51a a distance M behind the front end of the first surface acoustic wave 51. While in the rear, the first and second surface acoustic waves 51, 52 are overlapped. A sound absorbing member 6 is formed at the end of a thin film wave guide 2 on the terminal side of the direction of propagation of the surface acoustic wave beam to prevent reflection of the surface acoustic wave.
