METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MAINTAINING ROLL SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for maintaining the roll surface capable of rotating a submerged roll.

SOLUTION: The method for maintaining the roll surface is characterized in that a brush roll 7 is rotated at a prescribed speed while pressing it to the surface of the roll 1 to be cleaned. It is preferable that the brush roll is rotated in the direction (the arrow direction 11) reverse to the operation rotation direction (the arrow direction 10) of the roll to be cleaned. The method for maintaining the roll surface can be executed with the device for maintaining the roll surface having the brush roll, which is arranged by abutting on the surface of the roll to be cleaned, and a driving means to rotate the brush roll.
