Improvements to catalytic cushions.

[12]

Liquified petroleum gas are charged elements

[13]

odoriferous for user can detect leaks

[14]

piping or valve apparatuses as

their branch.

[16]

The odoriferous are commonly satisfied -

[17]

webs tracers of leakage and the most commonly used is

[18]

ethanethiol C.2 The m _ SH-called the mercaptan.

[19]

The presence of the radical shush has a severe - ORIGIN

[20]

[21]

except elements sulfide on the metal catalysis,

[22]

alters the nature thereof and produces a lode

[23]

sulfate complex which encapsulates the active elements and

[24]

gradually inhibits the catalytic reaction at the point

[25]

that the efficiency of these devices decreases orally a -

[26]

[27]

The tracer leakage is therefore for the cushions - Advanced

[28]

lytic both a cause of malfunction

[29]

and, accordingly, a factor of insecurity.

[30]

The present invention aims to remedy this - ORIGIN

vénient.

[32]

The method according to the present invention comprises

[33]

interposed between the pad and the arrival of the catalytic

[34]

a gas scrubber device retaining the SH-of

[35]

such that the air bag unless penetrated by the

[36]

[37]

According to a first embodiment of the present

[38]

present invention, a removable cartridge containing pro -

sewage ducts is arranged in a chamber placed

[40]

immediately upstream of said catalytic cushion.

[41]

According to a second embodiment, the scrubber

[42]

is fastened against the rear surface of the cushion

[43]

and has a thickness sufficient to have an efficiency

[44]

of the same length as the catalytic member thereto -

[45]

[46]

By way of example and to facilitate understanding

[47]

of the invention, is shown at attached drawing:

embodiment of the invention;

[50]

Fig. 2, a sectional view of a second embodiment

[51]

embodiment according to the invention.

[52]

By referring to Figure 1, it is shown that the cushion

[53]

conventional catalyst consists of an envelope - ethan

[54]

goosefoot 1, having an aperture with a grid 2,

[55]

having on one hand and the catalytic element - own

[56]

and identity 3 and a cushion fiberglass 4 assuring both the gas diffusion and heat isolation. The rear wall of the casing 1 includes a pot 5 clamped by any suitable means, in a sealed manner against a portion of said rear wall 6, this pot containing a removable cartridge 7 containing products scrubbers such as caustic soda drinks, activated carbon, the monoethanol amine stabilized silica gel or the like.

[57]

The portion 6 of the rear wall of the casing 1 through a tube 8 9 whose end is sharp. Similarly, the bottom of the pot 5 is traversed by a tube 10 11 whose end is sharp.

[58]

These two tubes have lateral perforations 12 near their ends.

[59]

The operation of this device is as follows: the cartridge 7 is inserted in the pot 5 and the latter is sealingly secured to the portion 6 of the rear wall of the casing 1.

[60]

During the reconciliation of the pot 5 against said portion 6 the tubes 8 and 10 enter the cartridge 7 or breaking two end walls of the cartridge. The gas loaded into the cartridge 7 sulfide by the tube 10 and in spring disentrained elements by the tube 8 and diffuses into the cushion catalytic.

[61]

Figure 2 represents a cushion composite catalytic consisting of a sealed enclosure 1, having an aperture with a grid 2, inside the enclosure 1 is the catalytic element 3, the cushion of fiberglass 4 scrubber and a cushion 14. This cushion scrubber is inside the enclosure 1 all along the rear surface of the cushion 4 glass fiber.

[62]

This cushion scrubber having same surface as the pad of glass fiber may have a sufficient thickness such that it remains effective over the same time period as that of the catalytic element itself that are to be protected.

[63]

The scrubber, be contained in a cartridge 7 or constitutes a cushion disposed within the sealed chamber 1 is made of a suitable mixture such as caustic soda, activated carbon, mono-ethanolamine stabilized silica gel or other: the set

1° method for protecting a catalytic cushion of interposing between the cushion catalytic and the gas inlet and clearing said gas scrubber device a noxious compounds which are an obstacle to the proper functioning of the device.

2° catalytic cushion consisting of a sealed chamber including the catalytic element itself and a cushion of fiberglass and provided at its rear wall of a chamber having a cleaner element.

3° cushion catalytic according to the preceding paragraph wherein the chamber includes a removable portion and a pot-shaped portion secured to the rear wall of the sealed enclosure cover said pot, these two sections that can be connected to one another in a sealed manner; the part forming the pot being traversed by the supply conduit of the gas and the part is integral with the shell being traversed, as well as the wall of said enclosure through an outlet duct, these two pipelines entering through any suitable means in the removable cartridge received in said pot.

4° cushion composite catalytic consisting of a sealed enclosure within which are disposed the catalytic cushion itself, a cushion fiberglass cleaner and a cushion.

Said cushion 5° purifier located inside the sealed enclosure has same surface as the cushion of fiberglass against which it is fastened and has sufficient thickness to remain effective over the same time period as that of the catalytic element itself that it protects.
