5 A seed planting device.

[2]

This seed planting device comprising, on a frame provided with

[3]

support wheels, a plow for forming a furrow in the ground,

[4]

means for distributing the pellets and fingers to close the furrow seeded, is characterized in that the means for distributing the pellets consist of a cup receiving seeds having, at its base, a movable flap, said flap being connected to the supporting wheels for its control, at regular intervals, regardless of the rate of movement of the device.

[5]

According to another feature of the invention, the

[6]

cup is formed on the SOC realizing the furrow in the ground, this share is constituted by two blades defining between them a space lamellar surmounted by a cup receiving seeds;

[7]

According to another feature of the invention, the

[8]

share with the cup receiving seeds has rails and the flap is constituted by a drawer sliding valve.

[9]

According to another feature of the invention, the device comprises a second bearing for the unwinding of the roll of plastic sheet, said second support being disposed between the seeder and the means providing for the application and maintenance without sliding the unrolled sheet on the ground, the seeder seed being connected for its triggering means for the perforation.

[10]

The invention is shown, by way of example not

[11]

limiting, on the accompanying drawings, in which:

[12]

Figure 1 - is a side sectional view of a dielectric waveguide device -

[13]

sitif according to the invention,

[14]

Figure 2 - is a top view of Figure 1,

[15]

Figure 3 - is a cross-section along a-a of Figure 1,

[16]

Figure 4 - is a perspective view schematic of an embodiment of carries workpiece.

[17]

The device according to the invention is intended, in the example represented, to be implemented in the purpose of under plastic cloud such cultures.

[18]

The device includes, on starting motor. chassis 1 provided with support wheels 2, a punch 14, slidingly movable in the direction of arrow fL in a slide 33, the movement back and forth in this matrix is provided by means of a cam cooperating with a finger 32 61 of the matrix, this cam being mounted on a transverse pin 31, rotated from the wheels 2 via transmission means 21, 25 and 29.

[19]

Means constituted by a hook (not shown) is also provided for retaining the matrix 14 in the raised position and

[20]

5 abruptly dropping it does that at a predetermined time, the traveling device "

[21]

For example, the trip may be made to IO by means of a ramp cam fixed or controlled by one of the support wheels 2, this ramp controlling the hook through O of levers and rods associated with return springs.

[22]

This arrangement allows then ensure the perforation of a sheet of plastic material from a roll 5, rotatably mounted on a spindle 4.

[23]

In this case, the unrolling of the sheet is braked by a pad 90 5, attached to the end of an arm 91, 92 pivoting, which pad is applied against the roller by means of a spring 93.

[24]

The device can then perforate the plastic sheet during its course while it is

[25]

D-placed on the ground, or more precisely on the SOC driven into

[26]

the ground and make the plantation by introducing the plant and seed through the perforation, said perforation being vertically disposed of a groove which is formed simultaneously in the ground below the plastic sheet.

[27]

5 However, for some kinds of crops, and particularly the culture of melon, seed must be planted in a groove at regular intervals, which could not be obtained to date that manually.

[28]

Thus, such culture had personal

[29]

) important cost dramatically costs.

[30]

Also, the planting of such seeds to be performed regular depth and low and, further, these seeds are extremely fragile so that, for these reasons, it has never been achieved a machine capable of performing

[31]

j is properly this job.

[35]

to mount on the frame 1 a seed planting device 100 101 and a second support for the roll of plastic 104,

[36]

this support 101 being, in this case, disposed after the device

[37]

I-seeder 100 so as to cover the groove seeded.

[38]

This support 101, which in the example illustrated consists of side hooks 102 secured to the uprights supporting the wheels 2, is placed, relative to the forward direction of the device, upstream of 66 which are applied to the plastic film off of the roller 103 104 applying it against the floor and avoid slippage during advancement of the device.

[39]

Also, behind the roller 66 and wheels 104, 105 are disposed disks deflectors which engage a ground the edges of the plastic sheet 103 inserted into lateral grooves formed by the two lateral 106 and 107 shares provided at the front of the machine to a spacing corresponding to that of the width of the plastic film 103.

[40]

On the roller 104 is also a brake shoe 90 ^, ^ 92 pivotally mounted to the end of an arm 91, while a spring 93^tends to maintain the pad applied against the roll sheet.

[41]

The seed planting device consists of a plow comprising two parallel blades 106, defining between them a space lamellar 107 surmounted by a cup 108 for introducing seeds.

[42]

The top edge of the two plow blades 106 is provided with a susceptor 109 which delimit the curled edges 110 UER * parallel slides receiving a sliding drawer 111.

[43]

This drawer 111 comes, for one of its positions, seal the cup 108 and thereby prevent the fall of the seeds in the furrow formed by the two blades 106.

[44]

Springs 112 are engaged for this purpose, on the one hand

[45]

in the drawer 111 113, 114 in the other hand to a cross member 115, constantly to return this drawer 111 through the cup 108 to close it.

[46]

Also, this drawer 111 is connected, via a cable with a sheath 116 117 to the matrix 14 to yank the drawer 111 112 against the spring means when said matrix is released.

[47]

The triggering of the matrix ensures, in this case, the opening of the cup 108 which leaves at this time drops seeds into the furrow formed, the cup being immediately closed under the action of the springs 112 due to the rise of the molecular matrix 114 under the action of the cam 32.

[48]

The cup 108 is therefore closed by the slide 111 except during a short period of time corresponding to the fall of the seeds in the furrow, so the operator sitting on the seat 118 has sufficient time between each aperture

[49]

5 of the cup to drop in the latter the necessary seeds, the seeds being subsequently introduced into the groove at regular intervals without operator intervention.

[50]

The groove thus seeded then is closed by rods dêflectrices 119, disposed rearward of two blades 106

[51]

Lo and forming the SOC, while, to the vertical rods with 119, 120 is provided a nozzle supplied with one pipe 121 from a reservoir 122, then this nozzle for introducing into the furrow, before or in the course of closing, a fertilizer product.

[52]

As is noted on the drawings,

[53]

.5 the chassis 1 delimits, vertical from the seed planting device 100, a frame 123 within which may sit on seats 118 such as one or more operators.

[54]

To this end, these seats 118 are detachably fitted on the frame 123 124 through hooks

[55]

i0 overlaps the top edge of the frame, these seats 118 can be placed at any location on the frame whereby the operator can select the most suitable position according to motions that must be applied to the genus of sowing to execute.

[56]

5 The device according to the invention may therefore, by simple adaptation, be used for making all kinds of crops and thus possible under plastic, using a roll of plastic sheet 5 disposed on the support shaft 4 at the front of the machine, is performed by the matrix 14

[57]

0 perforations in this " sheet, while the plants may be introduced into the ground through the perforations in the sheet.

[58]

In contrast, eliminating this sheet roll 5 and

[59]

by providing the seed planting device 100, it is possible 5 sow seeds at regular intervals, the seed planting device being actuated in this case natràcc this punching the sheet, while the break into leaf unrolled 103 is maintained without slippage against the ground by the wheels 66, the edges of said sheet being covered with earth by the discs 105.

[60]

) In the example shown, the seed planting device 100 is attached to the frame 1 by means of a beam 124, 125 can be releasably secured, to the support plate receiving the punch 127 cooperating with the die 14. The support 126 is preferably carried out using two metal plates positioned parallel to one another to define therebetween a slot 128 in which may be placed the punch 127 to permit adjustment of its position vertically of the matrix 14.

[61]

Since it would be necessary to increase the accuracy of the depth of the groove and thus seeds or plants introduced into the ground, the support wheels can be fixed to the frame 1 by means of cylinders fed with fluid under pressure from the towing vehicle. The adjustment of the height of the chassis on the wheels will be obtained either by a manual control, either by automatic control e.g. a feeler shoe resting on the ground in front of the plow 100, the shoe being mounted to slide vertically and operation of a valve or the like.

[62]

14 Carries workpiece commanding the spool 111 may also be formed as shown in Figure 4.

[63]

In this case, the device consists of a rod slidably mounted in a sleeve 129 130, secured further by a stirrup 13qiau frame of the device.

[64]

At either end of the sleeve 130 bear 131 and 132 of the springs which bear on a ring 133, integrally formed with the shaft 129, the other on a nut 134 for fastening the matrix 135 which has a bottom edge intersecting 136, this matrix 135 being designed to cooperate with the punch 137 for the perforation of the plastic sheet.

[65]

After firing, the rod 129 formed at its upper end 138 diametrically opposed rollers which cooperate with a pair of cams 139.

[66]

These cams, which are two in number to avoid rotating the rod 129, 140 each have a steep plane for the drop of the rige 129 for the realization of a perforation.

[67]

The spring 131 is intended to lift the matrix 135

[68]

as soon as a perforation is made to clear this matrix of the punch. 137 and 138 to return the rollers to such a level that they can return to resting on the cams 139.

[69]

The spring 132 is it for retaining these rollers 138 applied to the cams 139 as long as they are not at the height of the steep planes 140.

[70]

The pair of cams 139 141 is fixed on a shaft driven in rotation from the wheels of the device, the shaft 141 optionally comprising plural pairs of cams 139 each cooperating with a cutting knife assembly in the event that it is necessary to perform a plurality of perforations along the width of the plastic sheet.

[71]

A seed-sowing device comprises a chassis 1 having support wheels 2, a ploughshare 100 for forming a furrow in the soil, a seed dispensing receptacle 108 having its base formed by a slidable seed-releasing shutter 111 connected to the support wheels 2 so that the shutter 111 opens to dispense the seed into the furrow and closes to receive further seed, at regular intervals of distance travelled regardless of the speed of travel of the device, and furrow closers 119. The slidable shutter 111 is connected by a sheathed cable 117 to a plunger 14 which is reciprocated vertically by the wheels 2 to punch holes in a plastics strip delivered by a roller 5. A further plastics film 103 may be laid over the seeded furrow after closing, and secured by turning soil over its edges by discs 105. <IMAGE>
