Maintenance device and maintenance method for printhead and spittoon device thereof

A maintenance device for printhead. The maintenance device comprises a chassis, a sled mounted in the chassis to slide thereon, a spittoon device mounted on the sled, a wiper mounted on the sled to slide thereon, an absorber disposed in the chassis and a post engaged on the sled. Upon maintenance process for printhead, ink spitted from the printhead is collected by slant structure of the spittoon. The sled is sliding along with the printhead in a first direction with the engagement of the printhead and the post. At the same time, the wiper moves in a second direction to scrape the ink remained on the printhead. The sled return to original position at which the maintenance process begins, and the ink collected in the spittoon device drain out simultaneously to be absorbed by the absorber.
