Clustered Tubular Venting
This application relates to an air flow ducting and venting design which results in cooling of air. Clusters of tubular designed air passages placed anywhere there is air flow such as vents, air ducting, fans, etc. The individual tube's diameter can be of any functional size; the size tested was 0.29 inches. The length can be any functional size; the size tested was 8 inches. These tubes are to be designed, assembled or molded into a cluster which would be inserted into the vent, duct or air flow passage resulting in all air flow being forced thru the cluster. The tubes could also be designed, assembled or molded inherently directly into the vent or duct design. The resulting functionality of the Clustered Tubular Venting is a cooling of the air that passes through them. The tested clustered, 1¾″×13¾″×8″ as shown on the drawings, resulted in a 3 degree Fahrenheit temperature drop comparing air exiting from the cluster versus air entering the cluster. Different size diameter opening and length of tube can be designed for the best functionality of cooling the air depending upon the specific application. The cluster could be formed to be rigid for installation in straight applications or flexible for installation where curvatures exist. The cluster could be made in a design where it could be easily inserted or removed when needed or not. An example would be a vent that could be removed and inserted seasonally. The cluster could also be designed and utilized with cooling fans. The advantage of using the Clustered Tubular Venting in an air flow passage design is the additional cooling of air that takes place without any energy consumption. A common application would be utilizing it in air conditioning cooling which would provide cost savings in less energy being used to cool.
