A toothbrush (10) includes a head (14) having multiple cleaning elements (26, 28, 30). One group of the cleaning elements is flexibly mounted on the head and another group may be fixedly mounted on the head. The flexibly mounted cleaning elements are attached to a flexible membrane (24) so that the membrane is capable of flexing to alter its original orientation during use of the toothbrush and then recover to the original orientation randomly during use.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14]
