A robot mowing system capable of customizing a mowing region and control method thereof; the system comprises at least one camera (20), a control terminal (30), a robot mower (40) and a local router (50); the camera (20) is used to acquire an image of a mowing region and transmit the image of the mowing region to the control terminal (30) via the local router (50); the control terminal (30) is used to control the camera (20) to acquire the image of the mowing region, and plan and generate, according to the image of the mowing region, a mowing region environment graph corresponding to a customized mowing region and a corresponding space coordinate system, the mowing region environment graph being marked with a first space coordinate (X1, Y1) of the robot mower (40); and the control terminal (30) is also used to control, according to a first control instruction input by a user, the robot mower (40) to work, and monitor a working state of the robot mower (40) by monitoring the change of the position of the first space coordinate (X1, Y1) in the space coordinate system. The robot mowing system does not need to set a boundary guide line in advance, and can customize the mowing region in real time; in addition, a mowing path has more freedom, and is not affected by the boundary guide line.
