A method for proving information related to activation of a portable terminal by an electronic device according to various embodiments may comprise the steps of: obtaining order information related to a portable terminal; obtaining information related to delivery of the portable terminal corresponding to the order information from a server; and on the basis of the order information and the information related to the delivery, providing information related to activation of the portable terminal, wherein the information related to the activation may comprise information on whether the portable terminal has been shipped out.
