The present invention provides a cooling device for a battery. The device includes: a battery part including a plurality of battery modules, and a support plate supporting the battery modules upwards; a plurality of cooling chambers combined with the support plate, and including storage spaces storing cooling fluids; and a cooling line connected with each of the cooling chambers to supply the fluids to the storage spaces. According to the present invention, a cooling chamber is installed in a part to be cooled such as a battery module, and cooling fluids are supplied to the cooling chamber, and thus, cooling efficiency and cooling performance are able to be improved. Moreover, since the cooling fluids are simultaneously supplied to a plurality of cooling chambers, the present invention is capable of preventing the degradation of cooling performance, caused when the cooling fluids are heated during their flow, and improving the cooling performance by keeping constantly cool temperature.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a cooling apparatus for a battery. The method includes the steps of: manufacturing a cooling module for a battery; manufacturing a plate-shaped lower body which has a mount groove unit formed on the upper surface at a predetermined depth while having a shape corresponding to the shape of the cooling module for the battery; inserting the lower part of the cooling module for the battery in the mount groove unit of the lower body; and inserting the lower body into the inner space of a die-casting mold while the cooling module for the battery is inserted and pressing and injecting a molten casting material into the remaining upper part of the cooling module of the battery to cast the upper body.
