The distance between the transparent plate and the spring roller is gradually reduced as the spring roller is rolled rearwards, so that the distance between the transparent plate and the point of contact of the airtight sheet to its own rolled part wound round the spring roller is maintained substantially to a fixed value, thereby contacting the original plate and the photosensitive material onto the transparent plate tightly. A squeeze roller may be provided for squeezing air from a space between the transparent plate and the airtight sheet by rolling thereon. A lower step on which the spring roller and the squeeze roller may be held when the printer is not used, can be formed in the front top end of a frame body.

Control means for a drier for films or sheets using a minimum of electric power. A heater is connected to a semiconductor switch and an alternating-current power supply in series. An oscillator outputs a pulse to a turn-on terminal of the semiconductor switch via an OR gate in synchronization with a certain phase angle of the wave form of the alternating voltage turning on the semiconductor switch for approximately 10% of the rated value of the heater thereby preheating the heater. When an entrance sensor detects the presence of films or sheets entering the drier, a starting signal is sent to a flip-flop circuit which outputs a high level signal to the turn-on terminal of the semiconductor switch via the OR gate activating the heater to full rated value. The high level signal is also sent to the turn-on terminal of a second semiconductor switch activating a second heater and a blower. A movable frame is provided with its legs located outside the sides of the table. The legs are each provided with two fingers, the inner ends of which are allowed to downwardly enter the grooves so as to mount the thin plate on the table. They are kept aside while the thin plate is treated on the table. After completion of the treatment, the fingers are swung back into the grooves and are then moved upwards, thereby lifting the thus-treated thin plate from the table. Then, the frame is caused to move so that the thin plate is carried away.

A blackening area rate detector detects a blackening area rate of a film developed and outputs an analog signal to a voltage-frequency converter which converts it into a digital signal. The digital signal is sent to a dividing counter which frequency-divides it and outputs a supplement signal to an up-down counter. The up-down counter is counted up by the supplement signal to output a high level signal to a timer via a gate. The timer is actuated by the high level signal to actuate a valve so as to supply a supplemental developing liquid to a developing tank. While characters are being displayed on a graphic display device according to commands from a computer, the light emitting intensity of a desired pixel is controlled by outputting only commands related to the light emitting intensity control from said computer. This is done by providing, associated with the graphic display device, for memorizing a group of numerical values corresponding to desired changes of light emitting intensity of a desired pixel belonging to a character or a graphic display displayed on the graphic display device, or by providing for obtaining numerical values corrsponding to the light emitting intensity changes. A device for practicing this method is also disclosed.

A method is disclosed, according to which a plurality of original pictures are reproduced on a sheet of photosensitive material with a desired lay-out plan and each at a desired magnification factor. Although the method is suitable for a real time operation, any local irregularity of the picture signal at the pick-up end is absorbed by a writing control circuit before the signals are stored in a memory device in which the picture signals are arranged so as to be read out according to the desired lay-out plan. In addition to the utilization of the memory device, the motion of the pick-up heads is controlled for obtaining the desired magnification factors and for compensating the irregularities in their motion arising from their driving means.
