DISTRIBUTOR/COLLECTOR ASSEMBLY

A distributor/collector assembly is composed of a screen cylinder, a perforated tube provided in the screen cylinder and support discs also provided in the screen cylinder. The screen cylinder is made of cylindrically arranged support rods and a wire screen wound helically on the support rods. The perforated tube is formed with apertures for distributing or collecting fluid which flows through the wire screen. The support discs support, on one hand, the screen cylinder on the outer peripheries thereof and, on the other, the perforated tube in the opening formed in the support discs in such a manner that space is defined between the tube and the screen cylinder. The distributor/collector assembly can be buried in catalyst in a catalyst reactor and used as a distributor or collector.

DOUBLE CYLINDER SCREEN

A double cylinder screen comprises an inner reinforcing cylinder which performs a pressure-resisting function against an external pressure and an outer screen cylinder which performs a screen function. The inner reinforcing screen comprises inner rods disposed cylindrically at a predetermined interval in the axial direction of the screen and a spiral reinforcing member wound on the outside of the inner rods and welded to the inner rods. The outer screen cylinder comprises screen rods disposed at a predetermined interval in the axial direction on the outer periphery of the inner reinforcing member and a wire wound spirally about the outside of the screen rods and welded to the screen rods. The width of a slit of the reinforcing member is larger than the width of a slit of the wire. The double screen cylinder is improved in its strength and can be manufactured without requiring a costly jig.
