The present invention relates to novel esterase (Est3K) or lipase (Lip3K) derived from a metagenomic library; a polynucleotide for coding the esterase (Est3K) or the lipase (Lip3K); a recombinant vector including the polynucleotide; a transformant having the recombinant vector introduced thereto; and a method for producing esterase (Est3K) or lipase (Lip3K) by using a cell having a polynucleotide for coding the transformant, esterase, or lipase. The esterase (Est3K) and the lipase (Lip3K) have alkali properties and heat resistance, and each thereof shows an activity of selectively hydrolyzing p-nitropenyl butyrate (C4) and p-nitropenyl octanoate (C8).
