This invention is a portable air filtering system with forced air circulation. It is built into a seat or a bed, as a pad on seats or beds, or as a wearable pad against buttocks. It consists of an air pervious element such as mesh or cloth for buttocks to rest on or against, an odor filtering element such as active carbon, and an air sucking element such as a fan. The suction by the fan draws air around buttocks through both the air pervious element and the odor filtering element. To increase efficiency of suction and to prevent flatulence gas from escaping, an air impervious element is used so that only the air around buttocks is drawn into the odor filtering element. This portable, nonintrusive, and convenient odor filtering system reliably removes flatulence odor and can give people the freedom of farting without causing offensive malodor for others and themselves. The present invention relates to a sitting-type smart wear assembly for bathing a patient, which comprises: a smart wear which includes a sealing unit for sealing treatment after being worn on a patient, collects water, flowing into a water inlet unit formed in the upper part thereof, in a water storage unit or allows the water flow toward a water drain unit, formed at the opposite side of the water inlet unit, along a gravity direction in order to wash the body of a patient in a sitting state, wherein check valves are included in the water inlet unit and the water drain unit; a water supply device which supplies water to the water inlet unit of the smart wear; and a controller which controls the supply of water in the water supply device, velocity of flow, and opening or closing of the check valves. Therefore, the sitting-type smart wear assembly can provide an effect of bathing a patient simply and conveniently through a smart wear worn on the patient.

A protective vest includes a cooling system including an elongated housing generally disposed inside the protective vest. At least one fan powered by an electric motor is supported at the upper end of the elongated housing proximate the neck opening of the protective vest for drawing fresh air into the upper end of the elongated housing. The elongated housing includes a retractable extension for varying the length thereof. Ventilation holes are formed in the elongated housing to discharge fresh air between the protective vest and the user's body. Electrical wires extend from the motor to a battery worn by the user, or to a vehicle cigarette lighter, to supply power to the motor. The electrical wires incorporate a quick-disconnect coupling and a switch/dimmer control to control the speed of the fan.

A personal cooling apparatus includes a ventilation unit connected to an air distribution garment, and is operable to generate a flow of air from the ambient to the air distribution garment. The air distribution garment includes first and second spaced layers of a flexible, but strong material that contours to a person's body when worn, while defining a plenum for the air to flow throughout the air distribution garment. A flexible cuff at a bottom seam of the air distribution garment prevents air within the plenum from escaping from the bottom, thereby forcing the air upward and laterally within the plenum. An air dam is centrally positioned within the air distribution garment for directing the airflow from the ventilation unit in at least two different directions to facilitate propagation of the air throughout the air distribution garment. Air holes are oriented along the outer seam or edge of the air distribution garment to allow air from the plenum to escape and carry heat away from the body. The placement of the air holes is optimized to increase air propagation uniformity throughout the air distribution garment.

A ventilation system to be worn by an individual whenever cooling of the external surface of his body is required such as when wearing an industrial protective garment such as a rain suit which comprises a manifold for receiving ventilating gas and distributing the gas which includes an inlet in the manifold and an outlet from the manifold for receiving and distributing ventilating gas, the outlet is selectively connected to at least one gas distribution conduit which is formed of flexible fabric material and extends over the surface of the body of the wearer, the gas distribution conduits include a plurality of orifices in the surface thereof to provide controlled distribution of the ventilating gas, the gas distribution conduits can be formed of a woven fabric material which is coated with a gas impervious elastometer such as butyl rubber or the like to prevent the exiting of gas from the gas distribution conduits except at the locations of the prechosen orifices, the system may include simply two conduits extending from the rear of a person's waist over his shoulders to the front of a person's waist or may involve individual connections for the arms and legs of the wearer as well as an individual conduit for the head area of the wearer, all of the conduits being formed of fabric material in order to minimize movement restrictions and discomfort to the wearer.

A gas ventilated garment including a primary manifold for receiving air at 20 to 125 pounds per square inch which is connected through a plurality of gas conduits to a plurality of radial dispersion valves positioned at various locations throughout a garment such as a jacket to slowly release air adjacent the body of a user for cooling. The individual radial valves are adapted to release the pressurized gas at extremely low rates normally being less than one cubic feet per minute. The configuration of the radial valves is unique in the restriction to a very low volume rate of release as well as a unique radial configuration allowing the gas to be dispersed in a radial or circular fashion from the individual locations thereby achieving cooling with a skew as seven or less individual ventilation gas radial dispersion valves strategically positioned throughout a garment such as a jacket.
