Described herein are a pack that has an interior storage compartment and a method for making the pack. The pack includes multiple joined panels inside of which is contained the interior storage compartment. The multiple joined panels include at least first and second panels. A seam joins the first and second panels together. A zipper that is composed of a chain and a slider is also part of the pack. The chain has first and second ends between which the slider is movable. By moving the slider, the zipper can transition between an opened position in which an aperture in the chain allows access to the interior storage compartment and a closed position that prevents access to the interior storage compartment. The zipper is affixed on to the pack such that the slider is movable over the seam without dividing the seam. As the seams of the pack are not divided to facilitate zipper placement, the structural integrity of the pack is improved over conventional packs in which seams are split to facilitate zipper placement. 1. Compressible and Storable Bags and Items

Compressible bags, towels, blankets, and apparel are disclosed. In one embodiment, a compressible bag includes a generally circular channel on one sidewall. A flexible, elongate member or drawstring extends through the channel and protrudes from an opening in it. The bag can be compressed by folding toward the area defined by the channel and pulling the drawstring, causing the area defined by the channel to be drawn up and around the bag, thereby compressing and encapsulating it. In an alternate embodiment, a channel with a drawstring may extend around the circumference of the bag. Towels, blankets, and apparel according to embodiments of the invention also have a generally circular channel on at least one wall with a flexible, elongate member therein.

Latching system

A latching system connects a case lid with a plurality of catch cavities to a case body with a plurality of latch-clasp cavities. The latching system has a plurality of latch-clasps connected to the case body with a latch-clasp pivot. A communicating member is attached to each latch clasp with a communicating member pivot. A slide switch is mechanically coupled to the communicating member and has an open mode of operation and a closed mode of operation. A wearable lightweight fire fighter's personal escape system and method includes a rope, having a distal and proximal end, organized in parallel segments disposed in an inner pouch. The inner pouch is entirely contained in an outer pouch that is appointed to be removably attached to a belt or harness, worn by a fire fighter. The proximal end of the rope exits through an opening in the inner pouch and outer pouch and is attached directly to a lightweight hook, or optionally enters a belay device. The hook has a sharp point for creating a purchase point on soft surfaces, a hook opening having sufficient diameter to surround radiators, steam pipe and the like, and capture rope that surrounds substantial objects. The hook has a central opening appointed for holding a firefighting tool to aid in creating a substantial object. The fire fighter escapes by creating a purchase point and repelling at a high speed or at a controlled speed by adjusting belay friction.

It includes a case body, a case lid covered on the case body and a liner provided inside the case body. There are a collapsed state and an unfolded state for the liner. A dust proof container which defines an outer layer made of a reinforcing web material and an inner layer adhered to the outer layer and made of an elastomeric material. The container defines a sealable opening between a first edge of the container and a second edge of the container, and the container further comprises a locking part located on the outer layer at the opening. The locking part defines an open state, in which the first edge and the second edge are spaced apart, and a closed state in which the elastomeric material of the inner layer at the first edge contacts the elastomeric material of the inner layer at the second edge. 1.
