A cosmetic dispenser comprises a brush, a cylinder, a ratchet wheel comprising internal ratchets and external ratchets, a rotating sleeve including a cosmetic reservoir and a piston. The brush is attached to the cylinder, which is rotatably attached to the revolving sleeve. The ratchet wheel is attached to the end of the cylinder disposed inside the revolving sleeve. The piston extends through the ratchet wheel and has a piston head disposed in the cosmetic reservoir of the revolving sleeve. An axial tunnel extends the entire length of the piston and communicates with a cosmetic reservoir. A needle extends from the brush into the piston axial tunnel. This cosmetic dispenser is constructed in such a way that, relative rotation of the cylinder and the rotating sleeve in a dispensing direction results in displacement of the piston head into the cosmetic reservoir and pressurized flow of a liquid cosmetic from the cosmetic reservoir to the brush. In addition, relative rotation of the cylinder and the rotating sleeve in a non-dispensing direction causes no displacement of the piston.

A battery powered blow dryer having a novel heating element technology that can be powered by an attached battery pack. The heating element includes an infrared light bulb that emits high heat with relatively low power consumption compared to current methods. The present invention patent also describes a unique configuration of battery cells to optimally perform the task of blow drying hair. 1. A battery-operated hair dryer comprising:a case having an air flow channel with an air inlet and air outlet;a heating element positioned within the case, the heating element including one or more infrared bulbs and one or more resistive wires;power control circuitry coupled to the heating element configured to provide one or more power optimization modes to the heating element, wherein the one or more power optimization modes includes time-delay heating circuitry to balance power between the infrared bulbs and the one or more resistive wires;a fan assembly positioned within the air flow channel; andat least one battery configured to provide power to the power control circuitry and fan assembly.2. The battery-operated hair dryer of claim 1 , wherein the one or more power optimization modes includes pulse width modulation (PWM) of the one or more infrared bulbs.3. The battery-operated hair dryer of claim 2 , wherein PWM includes flickering on and off the one or more infrared bulbs between completely on and off for a predetermined amount of time in each state.4. The battery-operated hair dryer of claim 3 , wherein power is only drawn from the battery in the “on” state of PWM.5.
