Toothbrush

An ergonomically designed toothbrush includes a handle of rectangular cross-sectional configuration. The handle is twisted about its longitudinal axis so that it fits the palm of a person's hand providing a power grip yet will fit most toothbrush holders. The forward end of the handle tapers outwardly and has an elliptical cross-sectional configuration with its outer surface being textured for ease of manipulation and comfort. A small elliptical neck connects the brush head to the handle and is designed not to interfere with the lips or cheeks when brushing. The brush head includes multi-level tufts of two grades of stiffness arranged in offset rows and is designed to remove plaque from interproximal areas as well as tooth surfaces and to reach into the gingival margin to gently massage the gums.

An oral care implement has a front side and a back side opposite the front side and an overall length extension between mutually opposite proximal and distal ends. A head of the implement, disposed at the proximal end, has at least one cleaning element extending from the front side. The length of the bristle bunches is arranged to differ between the lines. In the brush element some of the lines of the bristle bunches are at a distance from each other. A formable handle toothbrush has a handle portion that allows a user to heat and form the handle to the shape of their hand to provide for more secure grip of the toothbrush. In one embodiment, a hand formable toothbrush has a toothbrush head attached to a shank that can be inserted into a socket within the toothbrush handle. This configuration allows for the use of replacement toothbrush heads. This makes manufacturing of higher cost handles more economical, as the formable handle portions would not be thrown out when the toothbrush head needs replacement.
