A surface cleaning apparatus, and in particular a steam/vacuum mop, comprises a steam delivery system for generating and distributing steam onto a surface to be cleaned and a vacuum source mounted to at least one of the foot assembly and the handle assembly and in communication with multiple suction inlets, where one of the suction inlets are intermittently blocked. 1. A surface cleaning apparatus comprising:a foot assembly for movement along a surface to be cleaned;a handle assembly mounted to the foot assembly;a vacuum source mounted to at least one of the foot assembly and the handle assembly;a forward suction inlet in fluid communication with the vacuum source and positioned at a forward portion of the foot assembly;a rearward suction inlet in fluid communication with the vacuum source and positioned at a rearward portion of the foot assembly;a steam delivery system mounted at least in part to the foot assembly, the steam delivery system comprising a steam generator and at least one steam distributor in fluid communication with the steam generator and provided on the foot assembly to supply steam to the surface to be cleaned; anda shuttle plate mounted to the foot assembly for reciprocal movement between a forward position and a rearward position;wherein the shuttle plate is configured to block the forward suction inlet in the forward position, and to block the rearward suction inlet in the rearward position; andwherein the forward suction inlet is blocked when the shuttle plate is in the forward position, and the forward suction inlet is unblocked and open when the shuttle plate is in the rearward position.2. The surface cleaning apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the forward and rearward suction inlets extend across at least a substantial lateral portion of the foot assembly.3. Cleaning articles including a heat engine incorporated therein. The cleaning article may include a substrate (e.g., a non-woven wipe) including one or more layers. The heat engine may be in the wipe or pad, and includes a reactive metal oxide which upon contact with water, reacts to produce heat. The cleaning article may thus produce water vapor and/or steam upon activation of the heat engine. A venting structure may be provided adjacent to or surrounding the heat engine that includes an impermeable material (e.g., impermeable to water and/or air or other gas), which includes one or more vents through the impermeable material. The venting structure directs water vapor and/or steam to a desired face of the cleaning article, away from the user. A heat barrier layer may insulate a user's hand from the generated heat, and/or a handle may be attachable to the pad. 1. A selectively heatable cleaning article comprising:(a) a cleaning substrate material comprising one or more layers;(b) a heat engine comprising a reactive metal oxide that generates heat upon contact with water;(c) a handle attachable to the cleaning substrate; and(d) a venting structure surrounding or adjacent to the heat engine wherein the venting structure directs water vapor and/or steam through one or more vent holes on one face of the cleaning article, opposite a face on which the handle is attachable.2. A floor cleaning equipment, including: a cleaning head body having at least one suction port at the bottom; a base plate; a water supply tank mounted to the cleaning head body and located above the base plate; a water distributor mounted to the base plate; and a communicating tube. The water supply tank includes a venting hole in communication with the exterior. A first chamber is provided inside the water supply tank and a water outlet is provided at the bottom of the water supply tank. The water distributor includes a housing, a water inlet provided at the top of the housing, a second chamber formed inside the housing, and a water outlet hole provided at the bottom of the housing, the volume of the second chamber being smaller than that of the first chamber. The first chamber, the water outlet, the water inlet, and the second chamber are in communication sequentially. The communicating tube puts the first chamber and the second chamber in communication. The communicating tube has a lower end opening in communication with the second chamber and an upper end opening extending into the first chamber and located in an upper portion of the first chamber. 1. A cleaning head for a floor cleaning equipment , comprising:a cleaning head body provided with at least one suction port at the bottom;a base plate used for mounting a mop cloth for cleaning;a water supply tank for supplying water to the mop cloth, the water supply tank being mounted to the cleaning head body and located above the base plate, wherein the water supply tank is provided with a venting hole that communicates with the exterior, a first chamber used for storing cleaning water being provided inside the water supply tank, and a water outlet provided at the bottom of the water supply tank;a water distributor mounted to the base plate, the water distributor comprising a housing, a water inlet provided at the top of the housing, a second chamber formed inside the housing, and at least one water outlet hole ...
