A suture anchor having a conical surface and a bore in which an end of an insertion tool is inserted. The insertion end of the insertion tool is made of material having elastic properties. The bore and base of the suture anchor are angled with respect to the central axis of the suture anchor and preferably are parallel to each other. During insertion, the suture anchor is reoriented to fit into the hole, thereby bending the elastic end of the insertion tool. When the suture anchor is within cancellous bone tissue, the elastic properties of the insertion tool deploys the suture anchor to an orientation in which the suture anchor cannot fit through the bone hole, thereby firmly anchoring the suture anchor in the human bone.

A method of securing soft tissue to bone , comprising:locating a first anchor in a bone at a first location and a second anchor in the bone at a second location that is spaced from the first location with an adjustable suture construct extending between the first anchor and the second anchor to couple the first anchor to the second anchor with a segment of soft tissue positioned under the adjustable suture construct and over the bone between the first anchor and the second anchor, the adjustable suture construct including a suture with a first free end and a second free end, the first free end passing through a first longitudinal passage in the suture to form a first adjustable loop, the second free end passing through a second longitudinal passage in the suture to form a second adjustable loop, wherein, with the first free end extending through the first longitudinal passage in the suture to form the first adjustable loop and with the second free end extending through the second longitudinal passage in the suture to form the second adjustable loop, the first free end can be pulled through the first longitudinal passage to decrease a size of the first adjustable loop without decreasing a size of the second adjustable loop and the second free end can be pulled through the second longitudinal passage to decrease a size of the second adjustable loop without decreasing a size of the first adjustable loop; andpulling on the first free end of the suture to reduce a size of the first adjustable loop, wherein said pulling forces the segment of soft tissue against the bone.4. A dynamic ligament repair device includes a suture, a femoral side suture anchor and a threaded screw or housing implant. The screw is configured for placement in the tibia, or alternatively in the femur. A spring is housed inside an axial bore in the threaded screw. In some embodiments, the spring is a compression spring. A moveable spring button is positioned inside the axial bore adjacent a distal end of the spring. The spring button engages the spring directly in some embodiments. In alternative embodiments, an intermediate structure such as a spacer is positioned between the spring button and the spring. The suture extends between the spring button and the suture anchor. When the joint flexes or extends, the spring button travels inside the axial bore and dynamically compresses or relaxes the spring.

A method of anchoring a suture into a pilot hole in bone, utilizing a suture anchor. A lumen-defining circular soft wall, having a first and second end, is slidably engaged to a piece of suture, a first length of which extends from the first end of the wall and is threaded through the lumen from the second end, and a second length of which extends from the second end and is threaded through the lumen from the first end. The suture anchor is introduced into the pilot hole so that the first length and second length of suture material extend out of the pilot hole. An anchor of some embodiments is formed from strands of material combined together into a body and one or more elongated members extending from a distal end of the body that include one or more of the strands of material from which the proximal end of the body is formed.
