The present disclosure relates to a system and a method for determining a perceptual-cognitive signature of a subject. A plurality of objects moves at a controlled speed on a visual display, for a predetermined duration in each of a series of core trials. The subject identifies one or more target objects amongst the plurality of objects. The perceptual-cognitive signature of the subject is determined according to the number of target objects, the speed of the objects, the predetermined duration of each of the series of core trials, and a correctness of identifications, by the subject after each predetermined duration, of the target objects over the series of core trials.

Methods for assessing infant and child development via eye tracking

Номер: AU2014334870A1
Принадлежит:

Systems, devices, and methods are described for assessing the risk of developmental, cognitive, social, or mental abilities or disabilities in very young patients (e.g., in the first 2-6 months of life). Generally, the decline in visual fixation of a subject over time with respect to certain dynamic stimuli provides a marker of possible abilities or disabilities (such as ASD). The visual fixation of the subject is identified, monitored, and tracked over time through repeated eye tracking sessions, and data relating to the visual fixation is then analyzed to determine a possible increased risk certain conditions in the subject. A change in visual fixation as compared to similar visual fixation data of typically-developing subjects or to a subject's own, prior visual fixation data provides an indication of a developmental, cognitive, or mental ability or disability.

An example includes a neurosensing and feedback device to detect mental states and alert the wearer, such as in real-time. In an example, neural activity is detected by sensors that measure frequency, amplitude, synchrony, sequence and site of brain activity. These measurements can be compared to neural signatures and patterns shown to be correlated to neuropsychological conditions and disorders. When these measurements indicate an undesirable state the wearer is alerted via visual, audible or tactile means designed to be highly effective at alerting the wearer and allowing them to adjust their brain activity. Executive function, known to be crucial for school readiness, academic achievement and successful life outcomes, is the chief state to be detected, trained and supported. The device is designed to be used during primary activities, e.g. reading and listening, and to not require third party intervention during primary use.

Автор: Jones Warren, Klin Ami

129-. SENSORY EVOKED RESPONSE BASED ATTENTION EVALUATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Номер: US20200012346A1
Принадлежит:

The system and methods described herein determine a subject's indication of attention to a first and a second sensory stimuli. The system determines a sensory evoked response of the subject by calculating the statistical relationship between the subject's neural response to the stimuli and a signal feature of the first and the second sensory stimuli. A magnitude value of the sensory evoked response is extracted to determine whether the subject attended-to or ignored the sensory stimuli. A therapeutic methodology for improving eye contact in children with ASD. A plurality of pairs of contact lenses is provided to an adult, typically a therapist or a parent of a child, where the contact lenses have an image of a subject of interest to the child imprinted on the contact lens. The plurality of the pairs of contact lenses provides a series of pairs of contact lenses where the image is gradually faded. An adult interacting with the child begins by wearing contact lenses having an image of greatest intensity. Through a series of therapy sessions with the therapist uses the contact lenses, as the child's duration and frequency of eye contact improves, the therapist will then use lenses with the image of the subject of interest to the child that are gradually faded. When therapeutic goal of the targeted duration and frequency of eye contact is reached, therapy using the contact lenses can be terminated. 1providing a plurality of pairs of contact lenses, each of the plurality of pairs of contact lenses having an image depicting a subject of interest to the child, the image having an image intensity, evaluating the child, by the adult, in an initial therapy session, wherein a duration and a frequency of eye contact is measured during the initial therapy session;setting a therapeutic goal, by the adult, the therapeutic goal comprising a target duration and a target frequency of eye contact between the adult and the child.performing a plurality of therapy sessions until the duration and the frequency of eye contact between the adult and the child reaches the therapeutic goal, each of the plurality of sessions comprising the steps of:selecting one of the plurality of pairs of contact lenses based on the duration and a frequency of eye contact between the adult and the child;wearing, by the adult, the selected one of the plurality of pairs of contact lenses;interacting, by the adult, with the child, determining, by the adult, the duration and the frequency of eye ...

The present invention is directed to a computer application for analyzing handwriting. The handwriting is digitized by being captured by a computing device such as a tablet. The application analyzes four components of the digitized handwriting. The initial component provides real-time writing speed feedback to the subject. The second fully automated component computes a variety of kinematic measures based on periods of time when the subject is writing versus the pen being off the tablet. A third component is able to concatenate pen strokes into user defined characters and assesses character and/or word spacing based on preset distances. For the fourth component, a 2-dimensional version of the large deformation diffeomorphic metric mapping (LDDMM) method is used to compare each character to a template character. Together, these components can be used to assess handwriting for a broad range of applications. 1.
