The provided therapy allows for seizure prediction and detection with high accuracy, potential low risk and increased battery life. The flexibility of the method and system allows it to be used in different neurological disorders by tuning the parameters using a calibration procedure.

In some embodiments, a paddle lead is implanted within a patient such that the electrodes are positioned within the cervical or thoracic spinal levels. An electrode combination on a first row of electrodes can be determined that is effective for a first pain location with minimal effects on other regions of the body. The first pain location can be addressed by stimulating a first dorsal column fiber due to the relatively fine electrical field resolution achievable by the multiple columns. A method of treating a patient suffering from a pulmonary or respiratory condition comprising:inserting a therapy delivery device into a vessel of the patient's body;advancing the therapy delivery device in the vessel to a position adjacent to a target site, the target site adjacent to an adrenal gland; andactivating the therapy delivery device to deliver a therapy signal to the target site to electrically or chemically modulate the adrenal gland to treat the patient's pulmonary or respiratory condition.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the therapy delivery device is an electrode and the therapy delivery device electrically modulates the adrenal gland.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the therapy delivery device is a drug port and the therapy delivery device chemically modulates the adrenal gland.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the vessel is a vein.5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the vessel is a renal vein or a tributary thereof.6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the vein is an inferior vena cava or a tributary thereof.7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pulmonary or respiratory condition is asthma.8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pulmonary or respiratory condition is chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pulmonary or respiratory condition requires ventilatory assistance.10. Multi-Electrode Implantable Stimulator Device with a Single Current Path Decoupling Capacitor

Disclosed herein are circuits and methods for a multi-electrode implantable stimulator device incorporating one decoupling capacitor in the current path established via at least one cathode electrode and at least one anode electrode. In one embodiment, the decoupling capacitor may be hard-wired to a dedicated anode on the device. The cathodes are selectively activatable via stimulation switches. In another embodiment, any of the electrodes on the devices can be selectively activatable as an anode or cathode. In this embodiment, the decoupling capacitor is placed into the current path via selectable anode and cathode stimulation switches. Regardless of the implementation, the techniques allow for the benefits of capacitive decoupling without the need to associate decoupling capacitors with every electrode on the multi-electrode device, which saves space in the body of the device. Although of particular benefit when applied to microstimulators, the disclosed technique can be used with space-saving benefits in any stimulator device. 1.
