A method for imparting a long-wearing color to a keratinous substrate , comprising applying to said keratinous substrate a composition comprising:(a) at least one aminosilicone polymer having at least one diamino functional group and a functional group equivalent weight (FGEW) from about 1,000 to about 2,000 g/mol, and(b) a non-spherical particulate material,wherein said aminosilicone polymer improves retention of said particulate material on the keratinous substrate over time as compared to an otherwise identical composition in the absence of said aminosilicone.2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said aminosilicone polymer has a viscosity from about 500 to about 5 claim 1 ,000 cP at 25° C.3. The invention relates to a dyestuff of plant origin, obtained from a colored part of a plant species, the cell tissues of which contain iridisomes responsible for the coloration of said part. 1. A method for extracting a colored wax from colored plant material , the method comprising:(a) mixing the colored plant material with an alkaline aqueous medium to saponify the colored wax, wherein the mixture forms a basic solution comprising the colored wax in saponified form;(b) adding an organic acid to the basic solution to form a second mixture, wherein the organic acid neutralizes and precipitates the colored wax; and(c) recovering the precipitated colored wax from the second mixture.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein step (c) comprises filtering the second mixture to separate the precipitated colored wax from cellulose-based residues.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the alkaline aqueous medium comprises ammonia.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the organic acid comprises acetic acid.5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising maintaining the temperature of the mixture in step (a) at about 60° C. for a period of time.6.
