This application is related to U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/389,400 filed Oct. 4, 2010 and takes priority therefrom. The present invention relates to multi-purposed dentifrice products.Dental caries, i.e., tooth decay, is a leading cause of tooth damage in humans. Dental caries begins with lesions of so-called “white spots”, which are demineralized areas below the surface of intact dental enamel. Such subsurface lesions are formed before a cavity is detectable. If unchecked, surface enamel above a subsurface lesion eventually collapses, leading to cavitations and subsequent loss of tooth structure. The primary component of the enamel and dentin in teeth is calcium ...

Oral composition

In the conventional methods for suppressing dental caries using antibacterial agents, enzyme inhibitors or antibiotics, exocellular polysaccharides in oral biofilm prevent the permeation of antibacterial agents, enzyme inhibitors, antibiotics, or the like, and it is thus difficult to render intended suppressive effects on dental caries. Further, use of antibacterial agents or the like involves a high risk of resistant bacteria emergence, and thus it is not preferable. Thus, there remains a need for the development of a safer and more effective method for suppressing dental caries by regulating biofilm formation caused by dental caries causative bacteria instead of controlling the dental caries causative bacteria. A composition which regulates a quorum sensing according to the present invention can provide the inhibition of the tooth decay biofilm formation.

SYNTHESIS OF CYCLOHEXANE DERIVATIVES USEFUL AS SENSATES IN CONSUMER PRODUCTS

Номер: US20130216486A1
Принадлежит: The Procter & Gamble Company

The present invention provides synthetic routes for preparing various isomers of cyclohexane-based coolants, such as menthyl esters and menthanecarboxamide derivatives, in particular those substituted at the amide nitrogen, for example with an aromatic ring or aryl moiety. Such structures have high cooling potency and long lasting sensory effect, which make them useful in a wide variety of consumer products. One synthetic route involves a copper catalyzed coupling of a primary menthanecarboxamide with an aryl halide, such reaction working best in the presence of potassium phosphate and water. Using this synthetic route, specific isomers can be prepared including the menthanecarboxamide isomer having the same configuration as l-menthol and new isomers such as a neoisomer having opposite stereochemistry at the carboxamide (C-1) position. The neoisomer unexpectedly has potent and long lasting cooling effect. Preparation schemes for neoisomers of other menthyl derivatives which are useful as coolants, including esters, ethers, carboxy esters and other N-substituted carboxamides are also provided. 2. Автор: Karlinsey Robert L.
Принадлежит:

A method for decreasing dental hypersensitivity, including sizing a plurality of non-functionalized microbeads to be between 0.01 μm to 3 μm in diameter, suspending the plurality of non-functionalized microbeads in a fluid matrix to define a dental delivery composition, introducing the dental delivery composition into an oral cavity, introducing respective non-functionalized microbeads into a dental tubule, adhering respective functionalized microbeads each other and to the dental tubule to define an aggregate, and occluding the dental tubule with the aggregate. 1. A dental system , comprising:a dental matrix fluid; anda plurality of generally spherical non-functionalized metal oxide microbeads suspended in the dental matrix fluid;wherein each respective microbead is between about 0.01 micron and about 3 microns in diameter,2. The dental system of wherein the dental matrix fluid includes fluoride.3. The dental system of wherein the microbeads are silica.4. The dental system of wherein the microbeads are selected from the group including titania claim 1 , alumina claim 1 , silica claim 1 , and combinations thereof.5. A method for decreasing dental hypersensitivity claim 1 , comprising:a) selecting a plurality of non-functionalized microbeads;b) introducing the plurality of non-functionalized microbeads into the oral cavity;c) positioning respective non-functionalized microbeads into dental tubules; andd) occluding dental tubules with non-functionalized microbeads.6. The method of wherein the microbeads are generally composed of silica.7. The method of wherein each respective microbead is between 0.01 μm to 3 μm in diameter.8. The method of claim 5 , wherein the plurality of microbead is suspended in a dental vehicle claim 5 , wherein the dental vehicle is selected from the group comprising varnishes claim 5 , dentifrices claim 5 , mouthwashes claim 5 , and combinations thereof.9.
