Disclosed herein are compositions including an extract of mammalian omentum wherein the extract is a liquid portion of the mammalian omentum, such as an oil, extracted when the omentum is heated to a temperature of between 210 and 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Also disclosed are methods of making a composition including an extract of mammalian omentum wherein the method includes heating mammalian omentum to a temperature of between 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 225 degrees Fahrenheit, such as 215 degrees Fahrenheit and 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Methods of use of the disclosed extracts and compositions are provided including methods of inducing or enhancing angiogenesis, methods of improving skin quality and methods of promoting hair growth and/or inhibiting hair loss. 1. A composition comprising: an extract of mammalian omentum wherein the extract is a liquid portion of the mammalian omentum extracted when the omentum is heated to a temperature of between 210 degrees Fahrenheit and 240 degrees Fahrenheit.2. The effects on human hair growth of 7′-phloroeckol (1-(3′,5′-dihydroxyphenoxy)-7-(2″,4″,6-trihydroxyphenoxy)-2,4,9-trihydroxydibenzo-1,4-dioxin) isolated from () have been studied in cell systems. The cell-proliferation and anti-apoptotic effects on human human hair follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPC) and human keratinocytes (human epidermal keratinocytes: HaCaT) were investigated using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and western blot. The 7′-phloroeckol significantly increased HFDPC and HaCaT proliferation. With HFDPC and HaCaT, the amount of PI3K and phosphorylated AKT protein expression increased in a way which was dependent on the extent of 7′-phloroeckol treatment. Also, the levels of MEK½, phosphorylated ERK and c-Fos proteins, which are associated with cell proliferation, increased in a way which was dependent on the extent of 7′-phloroeckol treatment. Meanwhile, apoptosis was inhibited as there was an increase in the Bcl-2/Bax ratio which is associated with apoptosis, and there was a significant reduction in p53 and also caspase-3 and caspase-9. These results indicate that 7′-phloroeckol can promote human hair growth by inhibiting apoptosis and stimulating HFDPC and HaCaT proliferation. 2E. cava.. We describe the use of an exosome for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition to promote or enhance would healing or hair growth, or both, in an individual. The exosome may be derived from a stem cell such as a mesenchymal stem cell (MSC). 1. Use of an exosome for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition to promote or enhance hair growth.2. Use according to claim 1 , in which the pharmaceutical composition enhances would healing.3. Use according to claim 1 , in which the percentage of a group of test animals claim 1 , for example C57BL/6J female mice claim 1 , to which the pharmaceutical composition is applied which show growth of thick claim 1 , straight hair is 50% or higher claim 1 , such as 55% or higher claim 1 , such as 60% or higher claim 1 , such as 65% or higher claim 1 , such as 70% or higher claim 1 , such as 75% or higher.6. Use according to claim 5 , in which the percentage of a group of control animals to which the pharmaceutical composition is not applied which show growth of thick claim 5 , straight hair is 40% or lower claim 5 , such as 35% or lower claim 5 , such as 30% or lower claim 5 , such as 25% or lower claim 5 , such as 20% or lower claim 5 , such as 15% or lower.7. Use according to claim 1 , in which the time taken for a wound to completely heal (complete wound closure) in a test animal to which the pharmaceutical composition is applied is 90% or shorter claim 1 , 85% or shorter claim 1 , 80% or shorter claim 1 , 75% or shorter claim 1 , 70% or shorter claim 1 , 65% or shorter or 50% or shorter than the time taken for complete wound closure in a control animal on which the pharmaceutical composition is not applied.8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising co-administering an auxiliary autophagy modulating compound.5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the auxiliary autophagy modulator compound is administered at the same time as the first autophagy modulator compound.6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the auxiliary autophagy modulator compound is administered prior to administering the first autophagy modulator compound.7.
