Industrial filter assembly, with a cleaning mechanism, has a drum-shaped filter with a suction ring round the filter drum, and a suction slit against the filter. The suction ring is moved along the line of the filter axis, in a forwards and backwards sliding action. The suction ring is pref. moved by a linear component (11) for a slide carrying the ring. The filter material has an elastic distortion where the outer dia. of the filter can be reduced from its relaxed size which is larger than the inner dia., of the suction ring. The linear movement system is controlled by pressure sensors which register the pressure at the clean air side of the filter or the difference in pressure between the two sides of the filter. USE/ADVANTAGE - The filter assembly is part of a dust removal system especially in industrial and commercial working areas. The filter is cleaned effectively by suction extraction, in a simple and cost-effective unit.

The filter comprises a vertical cylindrical vessel of metal mesh closed at each end and internally lined with the filter cloth. The top end of the filter has a fluid inlet and an opening through which passes a rotating hollow shaft coaxial with the cylinder. Suction parts are fitted to the ends of arms extending from this hollow shaft which extends to the base of the filter. At least one suction pad sweeps the filter cloth surface and at least one sweeps the base. The hollow shaft is connected outside the top of the filter to a motor with gear reducer to rotate the shaft and to a fan which draws air through the shaft. Inside the casing on the upper part of the shaft are two diametrically opposed arms at the ends of which are suction pads that sweep the whole of the filter cloth. On the lower part of the shaft are two diametrically opposed arms having suction pads that sweep the floor. The outlet of the fan is connected to a cyclone for dust removal. Filter is used for cleaning large volumes of dust-laded gases, e.g. flue gases. It is compact which gives a lower capital cost and can work continuously. Power consumption is low for the volumes handled.

A device is described for filtering zinc powder from an airstream which is exhausted from a galvanizing process. The device comprises an enclosed chamber to which the airstream is circulated for removal of zinc powder. The chamber has a horizontally disposed bottom surface in which there is a plurality of circular openings which are equally spaced about a vertical center axis and which lead to vertically disposed bag-type filters. An arm is coupled to a vertical drive shaft which is rotatable about the center axis. The arm is designed to move a circular cover from opening-to-opening to individually seal the openings from the chamber, so that the filters can be cleaned of zinc powder. The cover is freely mounted on the distal end of the arm such that the cover is supported on the bottom surface of the chamber as it moves in an arcuate pathway between the filter openings.

Also disclosed is a separator device for separating particles contained in an air stream, an electromagnetic valve for use in a separator device, as well as a method of controlling a valve arranged to provide a reverse airflow through a filter in a separator device for separating dust/debris from an air stream.

The motor is shown rotating an internal debris receiving channel 16 and an external spray pipe 26 round a filter drum 21, filtered liquid being pumped first to drive the motor, then passing through shaft 32 to spray pipe 26.

The filter may be a cylinder 8 of glass or metal wool, or horsehair, &c., enclosed in a casing 7 provided with an inlet 11 for the dustladen air and an outlet 12 for the cleaned air. The filter is divided by partitions 9 into a number of small sections 10, over which a suction or blowing nozzle 14 moves successively to remove the dust and deposit it in a chamber 17. The nozzle may carry a perforated cylinder 20 for distributing the dust-laden air over the filter. The filter may rotate while the nozzle is stationary. In another form the filter is disc-shaped, and the nozzle travels over one side of it.

The present device for cleaning a filter net of a pulp dryer fan tower includes a nozzle guide connectable to the filter net and a plurality of nozzles movably arranged on the nozzle guide. The nozzle guide includes a rail or a threaded rod and an intermediate part connected between the nozzle and the rail or threaded rod. An actuatable power device is configured for moving the nozzle relative to the rail or threaded rod, wherein said at least one nozzle is arranged and dimensioned for cleaning the filter net during the movement relative to the rail or threaded rod.

An air conditioning filter cleaner for use with an air conditioning system of multiple units. The filter cleaner comprises a brush configured to clean dust from an air filter. The brush is in moving contact with the air filter and driven by a motor. A conduit is connected between the brush and a vacuum source that provides a suction force through the conduit to the brush. The conduit is remotely opened and closed by way of a solenoid or remotely controlled valve. A system controller oversees filter cleaners each connected to a network of ducts, each filter cleaner has an associated valve which opens a duct to which the filter cleaner is connected. TITLE: BAG TYPE AIR CLEANING APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure A bag type air cleaning apparatus is described for collecting particulate sediment from a source of pressurized air. The apparatus is adapted for connection to the pressurized air source and receives the pressurized air within a cylindrical plenum. A plurality of upright pervious bags are openly associated with the plenum for receiving the pressurized air. The air and particulate sediment is forced upwardly into the bags and against the bag interior surfaces where the sediment will collect as the air escapes through the pervious material. The bags are mounted on upright frames that are collapsible for storage purposes. A sliding duct is provided in communication with a blower mechanism in order to successively clean the inside surfaces of the bags. The sliding duct includes a manifold that comes into contact with successive openings of the bags while being pivoted about within the plenum. The manifold is connected to the blower mechanism which produces a suction force to reverse the pressure within the successive bags. The sediment is thereby pulled from the inside walls of the bags and is delivered through the sliding duct to a discharge. In addition, sediment will settle on the bottom or floor of the plenum. This sediment is gathered and delivered by an auger mechanism to the same discharge. A biased valve is associated with the auger to close and open alternately in response to outward pressure produced by the sediment being forced outwardly by the auger. Thus the sediment received from the sliding duct and from the auger is passed through the same discharge and is disposed of by the same blower mechanism.
