A beverage dispensing system includes a base to which a dispensing head is removably attached without additional fasteners. Beverage-forming liquids are supplied through a plurality of separate conduits in the base. Each base conduit has a normally closed valve that normally blocks fluid flow. The dispensing head has at least one passageway that receives liquid from an associated one of the base conduits. A projection associated with each dispensing head passageway opens the associated conduit valve to allow fluid flow from the base to the head. Dispensing valves in the dispensing head regulate the dispensing of the beverage. By selectively opening the dispensing valves, a plurality of beverages are formed from combinations of one or more liquids. A dispensing head includes an inlet opening and an outlet opening at each end of a passage extending through a body, the inlet opening having a smaller cross-sectional area than the outlet opening.

The flow rate of every amount fed out of a particular storage container (1-4) by a feed device (5-8) is measured by a flow meter (10). The flow rate is regulated by means of a regulator (9). If the actual value of the flow rates of every individual component is not equal to the setpoint value, all the flows are fed back to the respective storage container (1-4) via the reversing valve (11) and the return line (12). If all the actual values are equal to the setpoint values, the reversing valves (11) switch over so that the individual components are fed to the mixer (13) via the feedline (14). The mixture produced is again analysed in measurement units (18-20). If the actual values found by analysis are again not equal to the analytical setpoint values, the reversing valves (11) are in turn immediately switched over to the return line mode. Consequently, it is no longer necessary to remove a mixture which has not been further processed, that is to say the product, as waste during the period of time in which the control circuits are stabilising. On the contrary, the individual components are again fed back to the storage tank (1-4) so that no product loss can occur and a higher quality standard of the product can be achieved. <IMAGE>

Each selected fragrance dispenser is positioned adjacent the end of a pressurized gas tube and has a housing having an absorbent material therein supporting a fragrance absorbed in the material. The method includes the step of activating the selected fragrance dispenser apparatus gas pressure control mechanism to apply a predetermined volume of gas for a predetermined time period to at least one gas pressure tube through the remote fragrance dispenser absorbent material into the air around the fragrance dispenser to thereby disperse a fragrance laced gas at a predetermined location. The gas pressure control can be computer activated to control the remote dispensing of a gas laced with fragrance through pulses of pressurized gas. The selected housing can also have one or more membranes over the ends thereof which membranes allow the escape of a fragrance laden gas only at a predetermined gas pressure and otherwise blocking the egress of the fragrance therethrough.
