Each of the rollers has a cylindrical shape with a hollow portion and the cooling device is configured to supply a coolant into the hollow portion of each of the rollers. The coolant flows in the hollow portion of each of the rollers in a longitudinal direction of each of the rollers. The cooling device has facilitating members respectively inserted into the hollow portions of the rollers.

The roller mill according to the invention consists substantially of two grinding rollers which are driven in opposite directions and form between them a grinding gap for comminuting material to be ground, and a delivery chute via which the material to be ground is fed to the grinding gap. System and method for controlling the startup sequence of a roller crusher is disclosed. The roller crusher includes two generally parallel rollers that are separated by a gap where the rollers rotate in an opposite direction. During startup, the gap between the rollers is greater than the gap during normal production and a feeding arrangement is run at a speed that is lower than a normal production feed rate. The rollers are rotated at a predetermined speed that is less than the speed during normal production. Other parameters of the system are set such that material is fed over the entire length of the rollers and the no crushing force is exerted during the startup. The method and system of the present disclosure reduces the amount of stress on the rolls, frame and hydraulic system of the roller crusher.

The transmission holder according to the invention for a roller press has a two-part structure with a transmission part which is connected to the transmission and a separate torque supporting part which is to be connected to the machine base frame or foundation. Transmission and torque supporting part of the transmission holder can be detachably connected to one another, preferably by means of a screw or bolt connection. In one embodiment this connection has two screws or bolts. Advantageously the dismantling or assembly of the rollers can thus be accomplished significantly more simply than according to the prior art since merely the screw or bolt connection between transmission and transmission holder of the transmission holder must be released. Advantageously significantly fewer screws/bolts need to be released for dismantling the transmission which in addition are more readily accessible and have a significantly greater distance from one another than according to the prior art. In addition, no unilateral gravitation forces act after dismantling as a result of the symmetrical transmission part. Likewise the tightening torque of the screws/bolts advantageously does not play a very important role. Through removal of the prior, yet ubiquitous fluid coupling and related failure-prone components, a shorter, streamlined, lower inertia driveline results. The VFDs and a system controller adapt to the processing of difficult oil sand feed, anticipating high current events, adjusting roll speed on-the-fly, adjusting feeder rate or both to minimizing the high cost of process interruptions. Maximum startup torque and on-the-fly modification of roll and feeder speeds is provided to manage feed, environment and process variations and in instances of a stall, immediate recovery therefrom for reduced downtime, reduced wear and increased efficiency. 1.
