The nozzle may include two bodies, one nested within the other, that acting together form the full circle coverage area. The two bodies collectively define an annular exit orifice with one of the bodies defining the inner radius and the other body defining the outer radius. A flow restrictable inlet may be used to adjust flow through the nozzle and to adjust the maximum throw radius. The nozzle may also include a flow reduction valve to reduce the throw radius from a maximum distance and may be adjusted by actuation of an outer wall of the nozzle. A nozzle suitable for spraying insecticides comprises a body portion 1 provided with an axial bore 7 and having a valve seating 28 between said bore and a counterbore 9, a valve closure member 3, and a cap 2 screwed on to the body 1, the arrangement being such that when the cap is screwed up tightly it presses the conical end 27 of the member 3 into contact with the seating 28 and prevents the flow of insecticide through the bore 7, when it is unscrewed slightly it allows the member 3 to move from its seat so that insecticide flows around the member 3 and out of an orifice 21 in the cap, and when it is unscrewed further, Fig. 4c, the cap moves away from the member 3 and modifies the form of the spray. The member 3 is located by pins in bayonet slots such as 14 in the body 1, the diameter of the pin 12, for instance, being small in comparison with the transverse portion 15 of the slot so as to allow the member 3 a certain degree of axial movement. The member 3 is formed with a pair of helical grooves 22, 23 which communicate with two inwardly extending grooves 24, 25, Fig. 5, which communicate in turn with a central recess 26.
