Apparatus and method for filling and dispensing a highly viscous product from a container

A method and apparatus for filling of a dispensing container with a product to be dispensed, particularly useful for highly viscous products, in which the container has a vented dip tube structure which is inserted into the container before it is filled. Filling is accomplished by inserting a filling nozzle into the container so that it cooperates with the top of the dip tube. Filling of the container therefore occurs through the dip tube. The vent in the dip tube structure allows the air in the container to be vented as the container is filled. Because the container is filled through the dip tube, the product completely fills the dip tube at the time when the pump structure is inserted into the container. The vent structure can be used as a vent for the container during a dispensing operation as well.

A fluid transfer assembly comprises a housing for accommodating a fluid. A bellows member disposed in the housing defines an opening therethrough adapted to be in fluid communication with an applicator assembly. The bellows member seals against the inner surface of the housing during extension and contraction for defining a variable volume chamber with the housing. A sealed delivery system for dispensing metered volumes of a pure or sterile flowable substance is presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a hand-held sealed delivery system comprises a continuously sealing one-way valve assembly at a distal end, and a volume reducing reservoir at a proximal end. The pure or sterile flowable substance can be stored in the volume reducing reservoir. In operation, a user pushes down upon a push button driven actuator assembly, acting upon a metering pumping chamber, which is in fluid communication with the pure or sterile flowable substance stored in the volume reducing reservoir via a check valve. Depression of the push button driven actuator causes a dispensing pump to push a metered volume of flowable substance through the continuously sealing one way dispensing valve assembly. Return of the push button driven activator to its home state causes the dispensing pump to pull a metered volume of the contained flowable substance from the volume reducing reservoir and through the check valve. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a continuously sealing one way dispensing valve assembly prevents any backflow of contaminants through the dispensing orifice when the flowable substance ceases to flow, while the materials and sealed assembly of the overall dispensing delivery system prevent other means of contamination of the remaining pure or sterile substance contained within. Folds in the rigid collapsible liner may be substantially eliminated, thereby substantially reducing or eliminating the problems associated with pinholes, weld tears, and overflow. The present disclosure also relates to flexible gusseted or non-gusseted liners, which is scalable in size and may be used for storage of up to 200 L or more. A dome valve can be provided near the outlet channel at the top of the dispensing head, such that once its pressure is exceeded by the liquid, it opens and allows for a spray. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a continuously sealing one way dispensing valve assembly prevents any backflow of contaminants through the dispensing orifice when the flowable substance ceases to flow, while the materials and sealed assembly of the overall dispensing delivery system prevent other means of contamination of the remaining pure or sterile substance contained within. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, one or more components of the continuously sealing one way dispensing valve assembly, or of the delivery system general, can be bacteriostatic, bactericidal, or both.

Closed system for venting a dispenser reservoir

A fluid product reservoir, for a dispensing system, is made of a container having walls that include an aperture formed at one end thereof. A reservoir cap seals the aperture from exposure to the atmosphere. A pump integrated into the reservoir cap allows fluid product to be dispensed from the dispensing system. A closed venting mechanism is included and incorporates one or more air channels that direct ambient air into a bladder positioned internal to the fluid product reservoir. The expansion of the bladder functions to displace fluid pumped from the reservoir thereby equalizing pressure while maintaining a sanitary seal of the fluid reservoir.

Gas cell driven orientation independent delivery device

An orientation independent delivery device. The delivery device includes a gas chamber, a delivery chamber, a gas cell, and a delivery aperture. The gas chamber includes a gas-side rigid portion and a gas-side flexible barrier. The gas-side flexible barrier is sealed to the gas-side rigid portion. The delivery chamber includes a delivery-side rigid portion and a delivery-side flexible barrier. The delivery-side flexible barrier is sealed to the delivery-side rigid portion and is oriented adjacent to the gas-side flexible barrier. The gas cell is coupled to the gas-side rigid portion of the gas chamber. The gas cell increases a gas pressure within the gas chamber to expand the gas-side flexible barrier. Expansion of the gas-side flexible barrier applies a compressive force to the delivery-side flexible barrier allowing a delivery material to escape from the delivery chamber.

Pumping container for blocking air

A pumping container for blocking air comprises: a container for accommodating liquid contents; a pumping cap, coupled to an inlet of the container, for discharging the contents accommodated in the container to the outside according to a pumping operation; a suction line, coupled to the pumping cap, for sucking in the contents according to the operation of a pumping part; and an air blocking member for preventing the contents remaining in the container from making contact with air, by receiving and collecting air on the inside thereof in a volume equal to that of the contents discharged from the container by the pumping operation. Since the pumping container for blocking air, configured as described above, can always keep the contents accommodated in the container sealed from the outside so as not to be in contact with air, it is possible to prevent the problem of the shelf life of the contents rapidly shortening due to the decomposition or oxidation by contamination of the contents.

A wet/dry sheet dispenser. The dispenser has an elongate refill which holds a liquid and fits into a complementary base. Liquid is selectively dispensed from the refill by longitudinal activation of a pump. The pump may be disposed on either the refill or base. Liquid flows from the refill, upwardly to a dispensing cup. The user may then, optionally, take a sheet and wet it with liquid from the cup at the point of use. This arrangement allows for convenient and selective one hand pump operation, so the other hand is free to grasp the sheet. The sheet may be used wet or dry as desired at the point of use.

Container for cosmetic material

When a cosmetic material is stored for several months, even in the case where hydrogen is contained in the cosmetic material at the beginning, hydrogen is gradually effervesced from the cosmetic material and after a certain time period has passed, the anti-oxidant effect cannot be maintained. Therefore, to solve this problem, a hydrogen-enriched cosmetic material container has hydrogen encapsulated in a bag formed of a hydrogen permeable sheet; then placing the hydrogen bag together with a liquid cosmetic material into a soft case formed of a flexible and hydrogen impermeable sheet, and then connecting a manually operable pump member for dispensing the liquid cosmetic material in the soft case through an opening of the soft case in an airtight manner.

Fluid dispenser having a one-way valve, pump, variable-volume storage chamber, and a needle penetrable and laser resealable portion

A dispenser for dispensing a fluid includes a rigid vial that has a main fluid chamber containing a fluid, and a pump assembly that is in fluid communication with the main fluid chamber and is configured to dispense a predetermined quantity of fluid from the main fluid chamber. A flexible bladder is provided which is located within the main fluid chamber and is configured to expand to fill the ullage created within the main fluid chamber during dispensing of fluid by the pump assembly. The resilient bladder tends to force itself outwardly toward the rigid vial and, in turn, increases the pressure within the main fluid chamber in comparison to the interior of the bladder to thereby prevent the ingress of air or vapors through the bladder or otherwise into the main fluid chamber.

Discharging device

A discharging device for liquids. The invention relates to a discharging device for liquids, more particularly for pharmaceutical liquids, comprising a delivery device ( 10 ), a liquid storage receptical ( 20 ) communicating with an input ( 10 a ) of the delivery device for storage of the liquid ( 30 ), and a discharge orifice ( 12 ) which communicates with an outlet ( 10 b ) of said delivery device, and the liquid storage receptical ( 20 ) is at least in part in the form of a dimensionally flexible liquid-containing bag ( 20 ) and the liquid storage receptical ( 20 ) is disposed in a buffer chamber of constant volume ( 42 ). To prevent air from escaping from the buffer chamber ( 42 ), provision is made for the buffer chamber to be sealed by a protective housing from the environment ( 1 ) in a gas-tight manner, for the buffer chamber to communicate with the environment through at least one capillary passageway for the purpose of pressure compensation, or for the buffer chamber ( 42 ) to communicate with the environment ( 1 ) via a balancing passageway for the purpose of pressure compensation, while a valve ( 70 ) which opens in dependence on the pressure differential is disposed in this balancing passageway.

Method for dispensing ophthalmic fluid

An ophthalmic dispenser and method of filling and dispensing fluid stored therein. The dispenser includes a rigid housing defining a fluid-receiving chamber, a flexible bladder receivable within the fluid-receiving chamber, a pump coupled in fluid communication with the fluid-receiving chamber, and a nozzle having a valve defining an annular, axially-extending valve seat, an outlet aperture coupled in fluid communication between the valve seat and the pump, and a flexible valve cover extending about the valve seat and forming an annular, axially-extending interface therebetween. The valve interface is connectable in fluid communication with the outlet aperture, and at least part of the valve cover is movable between (i) a normally closed position with the valve cover engaging the valve seat to close the interface and form a fluid-tight seal therebetween, and (ii) an open position with at least part of the valve cover spaced away from the valve seat in response to pumped fluid flowing through the outlet aperture at a pressure greater than a valve opening pressure to allow the passage of pressurized fluid therebetween. The rigid housing is mountable within a cartridge which, in turn, is mountable within a dispenser housing including an eyelid depressor and a trigger for simultaneously actuating the eyelid depressor and pump.

Airless cosmetic container capable of discharging cosmetic product content in various patterns

The present invention relates to an airless cosmetic container capable of discharging cosmetic product content in various patterns, and more particularly, an airless cosmetic container for enabling a user to select a cosmetic product content inside two storage containers provided inside a cosmetic container body and discharge content from only one container, or for allowing dispersed discharge through discharge holes from a mixing member when two types of cosmetic product contents are discharged simultaneously, thereby allowing the user to apply makeup with a single push. The discharge holes formed through the mixing member may be formed into various patterns to allow the cosmetic product content, to be discharged into various patterns, thereby providing aesthetic impression to consumers.

Spray dispenser

The device has a manual pump fitted on a bottle or a pouch containing the product to be dispensed, and has a removable element interposed between the pump and the neck of the bottle. An open/close element is secured to the pump and is able to close the passage circuit for the product to be dispensed between the inside of the bottle and the pump when the removable element is in place.

Apparatus and method for dispensing a fluid

A fluid transfer assembly comprises a housing for accommodating a fluid. A bellows member disposed in the housing defines an opening therethrough adapted to be in fluid communication with an applicator assembly. The bellows member is adapted to operatively engage the applicator assembly for extension in a first direction and contraction in a second direction. The bellows member seals against the inner surface of the housing during extension and contraction for defining a variable volume chamber with the housing. Expansion of the bellows member in the first direction reduces the chamber volume for generating positive pressure in the housing and forcing fluid through a valve to the applicator assembly. Contraction of the bellows member in the second direction increases the chamber volume for generating negative pressure within the housing for drawing fluid into the chamber.

Mixing container for different contents

According to the present invention, a mixing container for different contents, when not being used, prevents a content stored in a storage compartment from being mixed with a content stored in a receiver member. When the mixing container is used, a button part is simply manipulated to open a lower portion of the receiver member, thereby mixing the two contents. Thus, the mixing container can mix different contents in a simple structure.

Compact liquid container

The present invention relates to a container system for liquids such as spray fragrances. The system includes a parent container ( 110 ) and a child container ( 120 ). The parent container provides a first cavity ( 113 ) for confining a liquid, and couples detachably to the child container for refilling the child container through a supply opening ( 111 ) in the parent container, so that the child container can be used for instance as a travel pack in a handbag or hand luggage. Here the child container is a compact dispenser, comprising a bowl-shaped rigid container ( 221 ) having a refill opening ( 222 ), which is kept closed by a valve unless the dispenser is connected to a supply container, and a dispense opening ( 224 ). These openings are located with a spacing from each other, and a pump ( 225 ) dispenses liquid from the dispense opening ( 224 ). In this particularly simple construction, the opening of the bowl is covered by a deformable membrane ( 227 ) to form a closed dispense cavity ( 226 ), the cavity becoming mainly or completely evacuated as the dispensing means is operated. The membrane then relaxes again, filling the dispenser, when the dispenser is re-applied to the parent container.
