[Also in Division B3] A lead screw and nut traverse for a machine tool slide comprises a lead screw E clamped at various positions A, B, C along its length to prevent flexing thereof, the clamps being opened and closed automatically to allow the drive nut F to pass so that only one clamp at a time is undamped. The clamps are opened and closed hydraulically by providing cams, limit switches or an electrical pick-off. To prevent "hunting" on to and fro movement of the slide the clamping initiating position is spaced nearer to the actual clamp than the unclamping initiating position. The lead screw may be fixed rotationally with the nut F rotatable, or may be rotated relative to a fixed nut. The lead screw may comprise a number of parts screwed together.

The service life of the ball screw is increased thanks to a simple structure which prevents deformation of the threaded rod due to its elongation.

A pull rod ( 24 ) displaces the screw support backwards and forwards along the profiled rail between to end stop positions, and the screw support serves as a support bearing carrying the screw between bearings ( 10 ) supporting the screw at its ends. A self-centering device for automatic centering of the screw in the screw support is formed with a self-centering element ( 11 ) mounted in the screw-support bore, said element slidingly abutting against the screw both when the screw is rotating in either one of its directions of rotation and when the screw support assumes its end stop positions. The pull rod kinetically interconnects the screw supports located on either side of the carriage, whereby as the carriage is displaced in a sliding motion in one direction it will abut against the screw support located on one side of the carriage for displacement of said screw support from one of its end stop positions to the other one while simultaneously, via the pull rod, bringing along in its movement the screw support located on the other side of the carriage, and reversely.

The invention of the self-adjusting flanged nut and self-aligning shaft bearing has the advantage that in welded constructions, which by their very nature are subject to distortion, no finish machining by means of a portable grinder or a milling machine is required. The spherical inner ring 4 with the round bar 8 adjusts automatically to the correct angular position when the shaft with screw 1 is rotated. In the case of accurate adjustment of the screw or shaft 1, in machine tools for example, adjustment is carried out by centring the pedestal or flanged bearing housing 0 and guaging by means of the fixing screw 12. By virtue of the milled recess in the inner ring 4 and insertion of the round bar 8 in the said recess, a wobbling motion of the shaft or screw 1 is not possible. <IMAGE>

本发明公开了一种高精度数控车床包括床身、床头和底座,床身上侧中间设有一条凹槽,还包括将滚珠丝杆固定在凹槽对应的床身上的丝杆端座和丝杆母座,凹槽正上方设有倒凹型的大托板,在床身上面两侧分别设有一条滑轨,两条滑轨上跨设有大溜板,大溜板可沿两条所述滑轨往复滑动;其中滚珠丝杆螺母,以及设在螺母的两端的螺杆。因本发明的滚珠丝杆中置,使数控车床在运行时,抖动小、磨损小以及精度高,大幅度的减小了加工误差,还提高了使用寿命,保证设备安全。又因在凹槽对应的床身内分别设在了丝杆母座和丝杆端座,使滚珠丝杆的维修、安装和清洁均方便;而且因其具有对称的结构,使其使用寿命得到延长。
