The support includes a first collar element (24) secured to the motor and a support upright (14). A stud (32) threadedly secured to the collar is slidable in a slot (28) and co-operates with the slot (28) to maintain confronting surfaces (14a and 26a) of the elements in face to face engagement. The elements are thus constrained to slide only in a direction parallel to the upright (14). A clamping screw (36) threadedly engaged in the stud can be tightened to lock the adjustable support at a desired position. The arrangement provides high stability to permit adjustment of the motor position even when the motor is operating.

For the prevention of parasite infestation of animals, an isoxazoline can be administered by drinking water route. However the inventors have found that when the drinking water is sanitized, for instance by using hypochlorite, the isoxazoline becomes degraded. Surprisingly, the isoxazoline can be protected from degradation by the use of a vitamin E. A pharmaceutical composition can now be prepared containing a concentrated solution of the isoxazoline in a solvent and co-solvent, with vitamin E. The composition can be diluted in drinking water, even when sanitized, to prepare medicated drinking water for animals. This way an anti-parasitic treatment can be mass-administered, leading to a highly effective reduction of the parasite infestation of an animal, and its surroundings. 2. A vertical hole used in measuring the temp. of a coke oven, is drilled in the top brick of a coke oven in three stages using a rotary drill first with a coke bit having square chips, forming a hole to at least 5 times the hole dia. in depth. Then drilling with a bit having circular chips to near the final depth, and finally, using a planer-type bit to complete the hole. The drill shaft is hollow and in each stage cooling gas is forced into the hole to jet from the bit forward end. The hole is pref. tested by forcing inert gas or air into the planed hole and measuring the rate of pressure drop. Any damage in the finished hole may be rapaired by spraying dry mortar or a suspension of heat-resistant mortar against any damaged area.

The column assembly is intended for use with a portable power tool (5) without a neck portion for a retainer clamp at the spindle end. The spindle (34) has a male screw thread for a drill chuck (36). It comprises a column (2) on which a two-part (6,7) tool mounting housing is vertically movable and securable. This housing carries a rotatable vertical shaft (14) having a female threaded upper end (33) to receive the spindle end whilst its projecting lower end (35) has a male screw thread to take the chuck. The housing is pref. provided with a releasable bracket (45), to engage the tool (5) and prevent its rotation.

The adjustable mounting supports a power tool (7) e.g. a drill, guiding the tool on a linear path or allowing its controlled inclination relative to the vertical. The fasteners include bolts (1) with hexagonal or serrated heads and diametric locking screws (2) of lesser dia. The union blocks (6a, 6b) are of uniform rectangular section and are traversed by three major holes perpendicular to the block faces. The base plate (4) also has not less than two holes of equivalent dia. One of the rods receives a sliding tool-cradle, and is fixed by union blocks to the base thus, forming a linear tool-guide. Alternatively two rods, coupled at head and foot by union blocks, may be used as a double column supporting an adjustable angle tool (10b, 7).
