The present invention relates to a method and a device for producing a preform with a base geometry optimized for the subsequent stretch blow molding. The preform produced in the injection mold is removed in a cooled removal sleeve and cooled in the shaft by intensive contact cooling, while to the greatest extent no cooling contact is made with the domed preform end due to a special contour of the cooling sleeve. On account of the re-heating of this domed end that is possible as a result, the latter can be mechanically deformed into a new geometry that is more advantageous for the blow-molding process, and consequently also influenced in the wall thickness. A plastic container has a main body portion, a neck portion and a molded feature such as an anti-rotation lug adjacent to the neck portion. A method for forming a balloon comprising the steps of:providing a preform having a circumferential wall that encloses an internal space,pre-heating the preform to a shaping temperature by passing a heated gas or fluid via an inlet of the preform into the internal space, andshaping the pre-heated preform into a balloon.2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the step of providing comprises providing a tool comprising a tube extending in an axial direction claim 1 , a first cone and an opposing second cone facing each other in the axial direction claim 1 , and arranging the preform in the tool such that the preform extends in the axial direction through the first cone claim 1 , the tube and the second cone claim 1 , and is surrounded by the first cone claim 1 , the tube and the second cone.3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein a first end section of the preform comprising the inlet is held by a first clamping device such that said heated gas or fluid can be passed into the preform via said inlet.4.
