The present invention relates to a mold for molding hollow bodies from parisons. It is the object of the invention to provide such a mold having a closing mechanism, which allows the mold to be securely held closed even under high pressure and which is in addition easy to clean. The object is achieved according to the invention by a two-part mold ( 1 a, 1 b ) for molding hollow bodies, in particular containers, from parisons by way of a gaseous or liquid pressure medium introduced under pressure into the parison, in which at least a part of the mold ( 1 a, 1 b ) is supported so it is rotatable about an axis of rotation ( 3 ), and therefore the two parts are transferable from an open position into a closed position, and wherein each mold part ( 1 a, 1 b ) is connected to one end of a toggle lever ( 4 a, 4 b ) so it is rotatable about an axis ( 5 a, 5 b ) parallel to the axis of rotation ( 3 ). The two other ends of the two toggle levers are connected to one another and to an actuating mechanism ( 7, 8, 9 ) so they are rotatable about an axis ( 6 ) parallel to the axis of rotation. The mold is characterized according to the invention in that the toggle levers ( 4 a, 4 b ) are located shortly before their dead center in the closed position of the mold and the actuating mechanism ( 7, 8, 9 ) exerts an elastic force on the connecting axis ( 6 ) of the toggle levers ( 4 a, 4 b ) in the direction of their dead center.

Die Formträger und das Bodenteil sind mechanisch miteinander gekoppelt. Einer der Formträger ist unbeweglich und der andere Formträger verschwenkbar von der Tragstruktur gehaltert. Das Bodenteil ist relativ zu jedem der beiden Formträger beweglich angeordnet. The mold transport assemblies reciprocate to carry the mold halves under the parison extruder to receive the parison and return to separate blow stations. The device utilizes a cam and cam follower mechanism for opening and closing the mold halves. The apparatus is movable for the purpose of mold setup. After mold setup is complete, the apparatus is mounted on a fixed platform beneath the extruder. The platform is adjustable in all directions to provide alignment of the apparatus with the extruder.

1477098 Blow mould clamping device H KORSCH and G KORSCH [trading as EMIL KORSCH SPEZIALFABRIK FUR KOMPRIMIERMASCHINEN] 17 Sept 1975 38269/ 75 Heading B5A A clamping unit 2 for a split blow mould 14 comprises two movable mould supports 10, 11 mounted only by two bars 12, 13 positioned below the mould, and a locking device 25 in the upper region of the mould supports to prevent the mould gaping due to moulding pressures, the axes of the locking device 25 and the bars 12, 13 lying at the corners of a right angled triangle (as seen in Fig. 1) lying in the mould parting plane 47 (Fig. 2). The locking device comprises a sleeve 27 attached to one mould support 10 and having an opening containing two opposed locking bars, and rod 28 attached to the other mould support 11 and having a symmetrically enlarged head 29 which on closing the mould enters the aperture in the sleeve 27 and on rotation of the rod 28 engages behind the locking bars, the surfaces of the head 29 which engage the locking bars being circumferentially inclined to the axis of the rod 28 and the surfaces 34 of the locking bars preferably being inclined also. The rod 28 is rotated by an hydraulic cylinder 42 operating a lever 43 attached to a sleeve 44 which is slidable but not rotatable on the rod 28. Half rings 36 engage a groove 35 in the rod 28 to retain it to the mould support 11 without preventing rotation. The mould support 11 is slidably mounted on the rods 12, 13 and the two supports 10, 11 are drawn together to close the mould by rotation of a plate 24 connected by rods 45, 46 to the mould support 11 and to a beam 21 connected across the rods 12, 13. The mould clamping unit is mounted on guide members 15 sliding along inclined tubes 16 and is moved by an hydraulic cylinder 18 (Fig. 3, not shown) between the tubes 16 from a position beneath a parison extruder 4 to a position between a blow moulding head 3.

This relates to a blow mold of a large capacity which is particularly configurated to replace two adjacent blow molds in a blow molding machine of the Ferris wheel type. The blow mold includes an inner mold half which will bridge the supports for two existing smaller molds and an outer mold half which is formed in two segments with each of the segments being independently mounted on the supports for two separate prior radially outer blow mold halves.
